Degrassi- Well, that episode was kinda predictable, but also went off in WTF territory. Like I said previously, I already knew Adam was going to die, but god, with Drew and Claire being all, "Oh, Adam will be fine!" and acting like everything was going to be okay, they practically signed his death warrant!
But seriously, what the eff?! So, not only did they kill Adam off, they didn't even spend any time in the hospital or anything! Its like they spend it on BS plots, "Oh, here's Maya buying an expensive dress to impress Miles that she's intending to return or else she's on the hook for $5000". It would've been a surprise if Zoe didn't spill something on it. What was a surprise though was that didn't actually lead to trouble for Maya, they like took it back no problem. So what was the point of that?
And then Alli's Summer Romance takes a ridiculous turn. So, at first it seems like they're going to break up, then they do it, are caught by his grandparents, who share their story of how they met and they end up approving of their relationship. And then Leo says he's transferring to Toronto U and living with a relative over there. So its all happy, right? Nope, while they're at that weird French bridge where lovers put locks on the railing, Alli gets a text from Dallas all, "Counting the days til you're back!" Which, I don't even remember them being a thing. Anyways, Leo says it, is pissed, and almost breaks Alli's arm. And then when Jenna sees that Alli's in pain on the bus ride to the airport, Alli makes excuses for Leo. Wait, so is she going to have Leo going all stalker on her when school starts?!
Burn Notice- Well, tough choices, this ep. First, James assigns Michael and Sonya to kill a former "friend" of Michael's, who had been looking into Michael and James was worried would expose his operation. Ida know, I think the audience would feel for Michael's quandary more if Roger wasn't some guy we just met and are only told that Mike has worked with a bunch and considered a friend. Even though we've never met him. Michael doesn't want to do it, but HRG is all, "Sorry, you got to keep your cover, and if it makes you feel better, he's screwed over the good guys before, its all part of the game".
So, he resolves to do it, but their first plan goes awry because of radio jammers, and they fail to kill him. But failure is not an option, so Sonya's about to call an air strike which will kill everyone in the compound. Michael can't have that, so he lures the guy out and snipes him. Which allows him and Sonya to return to Miami for the B-plot.
Which was: Apparently Carlos had flipped on some drug dealer a decade ago, and the guy was supposed to be in jail for a long time, but he got out, and someone exposed Carlos. It ends up being some cop lady he trusted. So he was supposed to bring some witness to her, but it was a trap. Luckily, he actually kept the witness behind, watched by the gang. Not so lucky, the drug dealer guy kills traitor cop lady and captures Carlos. Then he gives Fi a call demanding the witness (who had run off after seeing Carlos being betrayed from their vantage point from afar).
So, she calls Michael, who wonders if Sonya can somehow help. And she can, because the organization randomly has connections to the cartel who drug dealer guy works for. So Michael goes in as the witness since the guy never saw the witness, but the guy is not that dumb to fall for it since he knows the witness is most likely not-white. But Michael bluffs it until Sonya come through, and the guy's bosses call on Michael's cell in the nick of time. They tell the guy's henchman to kill him and let Michael, Carlos, and Fi go, lest something happen to his family back in Columbia. So he does.
It ends up causing Carlos and Fi to break up, because the way James' organization put pressure on the cartel cause a bunch of death in Columbia, and Carlos felt all guilty that people got killed in order to get him rescued.
Which was confusing as hell. Sonya says they put pressure on the cartels, and Carlos says "at the same time the Cartel called, a gunship attacked them, killing seven people". Which, does he mean, they attacked, so then the Cartel acquiesced and made the call? Why not say, they were attacked right before they called? Because the first time hearing that convo, I thought he meant after the Cartel did what James asked, he double crossed them or something. Its like use "previously"- at the same time makes no sense. Because if it was the same time, then they'd be too busy ducking gunfire to make the call.
