Continuum- Almost through with the first season. Just finished the ep with the farm where Julian's father gets killed. Seriously, no scene where the cops realize their mistake and at least apologize for shooting someone who was a hostage? Also, did no one find it suspicious that Kiera was all, "Weren't you involved with the riots?" to Julian? He was never arrested or questioned or anything! Like Alec told the dad where he was, but wouldn't they be all, "How the hell would you know?" to her?
I'm hoping Kiera does not accept Kellog's advances at the end of the ep, because like she said, she's married. Of course, they randomly did mention the husband cheated on her right before they were married in a previous ep. I am a little confused about Kellog's history with Liber8 though. Kiera described them as the team's social engineer, a con artist. But apparently he wasn't even a member of Liber8! He was with his sister while she was on a mission of Liber8, and when Kiera mortally wounded her, he stayed with her until her death and got pinched as an accessory. I guess he was a good talker, but it just seems weird that he would hook up with them. Like, "hey, guys who got my sister killed! I can be really helpful as a smooth talker!" He never seemed like a true believer in Liber8's goals, but he also doesn't seem like someone seeking revenge against the corps (or Liber8) over his sister's death.
Defiance- That was unexpected. Ooh, the Tarrs are conniving! I mean, Stahma with the whole, "Can't you see Rafe is full of grief!" to circumvent Amanda's wishes for succession to get Datak in power. And wow, Datak is brutal, slaughtering those Iraths and killing Amanda's ex for witnessing his viciousness. I was surprised the son was with his parents when they basically ambushed Amanda to announce Datak's candidacy, what with the unplugging the Mayor's microphone. I suppose he has no choice, they are his parents, but I thought he didn't care for their schemes. But it seemed like he looked like he was taking pleasure in being in their cunning plan.
But some interesting secrets revealed- Rafe's wife was bipolar and shipped off somewhere, and he was having an affair with Eloise Hawking? And Doc Yewl is a former ally of hers?
