May. 17th, 2013 09:00 amSo I saw an article the other day that was all, 43 things that will make you feel old. And some of them indeed made me feel old. But the whole, "When Titanic was re-released in 3-D, there were a bunch of teens who did not know it was an actual event" didn't make me feel old, that just made me think kids today are friggin stupid.
ME blather- Did enough extracts with the Havoc to finish up Retaliation mastery, which finally put my challenge points high enough to say this:
But getting Retaliation mastery means I'll be using the Collector AR for a while, particularly since I'm one AR away from completing AR mastery a third time. So, 140000 points to complete AR mastery, which will knock the counter for it back down to 0, another 60000 (for 200000 total) to get the one under Retaliation mastery to pop again, and then another 80000 after that to get it under AR mastery again. I mean, I wouldn't bother if the Collector AR wasn't a decent rifle, but since it is, and I'm OCD like that, might as well fill it up under both categories (since they won't reset until I complete the entire category all over again).
TV commentary:
The Office- A sweet finale, a nice end to the series. Happy endings for almost everyone. Well, everyone who was a main character. I mean, Mohinder got kinda screwed, with Kelly leaving him for Ryan. But hey, Nellie got a baby out of it. Which, can she just do that? Ryan abandons his child, and Nellie can just take it?! That was the only development I disliked. I mean, I'm fine with her getting a kid, I just don't like the way they did it. They have shown Ryan and Kelly to be totally horrible people in the past, but that's a little too much- first Ryan almost killing a baby to get some alone time with Ryan, and then just abandoning it, just like its mother did? I was confused if that was his kid he had with the unseen ex-gf, or if she had a kid already, and stuck Ryan with it. I can't see him taking care of some random kid, and the whole vehemently setting Kelly straight that the kid was not named after the rapper makes it seem like he had a role in naming the kid, whuch make me think its his.
But yeah, I'm really surprised they wrapped up things for Nellie like that, since she was only around for a season or two. The whole Erin finding her birth parents (Joan Cusack and Ed Begley Jr!) was actually more surprising than Michael showing up (because of course he was gonna show up!) . It was like once we learned Phyllis wasn't actually her mom, they kinda dropped that storyline. I mean, they still had her craving parent-ish love, what with latching onto Michael as her surrogate dad, but if you told me they'd bother to have her find her birth parents, I would've been skeptical.
And the whole Pam and Jim moving to Austin, I hope Pam had been talking to Daryl or someone over there. Like Jim was all, "Sorry, I'm choosing my wife", they might not necessarily take him back. Especially after he missed the national tour or whatever, like wasn't that a big part of the start up. I guess those guys were supposed to be old buddies, and Daryl was there too, but its a bit presumptuous of Pam to think they could just pick up and leave and these guys would have a job for him waiting. They could have at least had a minute scene in one of the last eps where Daryl or one of those guys was all, "Well, if you ever change your mind, the door is always open!"
That was amusing though, because yeah, if that was real life and their whole love life was displayed before everyone to see, that is kinda sucky for Pam, having to hear all these people be all, "OMG, Jim is big gesture guy, look at all these things he did for you, what have YOU done?" That and they prolly have tons of stalkers.
And wait, Meredith's stripper son, that's not the same actor who played her kid way back in 1st or 2nd season, was it? I mean, I guess that would be like 8 or 9 years ago, so that is entirely possible.
I also don't know why, but I actually found the "Filipino version" of Andy's freak out kinda hilarious. I mean, it was basically just a bunch of Filipino dudes in a room talking Filipino, but that just seemed so random that of all the countries they picked, they had a Filipino version. I did think he had the most bittersweet line of the night- (pardon me if I don't get it exactly right) "I wish you could know you were in the Good Old Days when you're actually in them".
