Person of Interest- Interesting, this week was a look into the other side of things, the people who handle the machine finds "relevant" (or is that those the people running the machine find relevant). So we see a female version of Reese, played by Sarah Shahi. We follow her for most of the ep, and the normal cast are reduced to incidental characters, only seeing their reactions to her rather than anything they do when she's not around in the ep. So, she ends up shooting Reese the first time he tries to help her, which is kinda amusing that he did not have a vest on the second time he confronted her, knowing that she was very likely to shoot him. But, she also gets to tangle with Root, who tries to use her to get info on that group. For someone who isn't a spy, she sure gets the jump on these hard-ass spy types. She's got balls! (Also, heh, what happened to the one lady she was posing as to trick Shaw? She was alive in the bathtub, but when Reese goes to rescue Shaw, he just leaves her there with all the spy guys who got shot. Won't the people those guys work for kill her? Or did I miss the part where they already did)
Interesting though, she's apparently a loyal soldier. You think she's out for revenge after what happened. And she is, sort of. But she also believes in the work they're doing, so she actually has no desire to bring down whatever you call the group controlling the machine. For her loyalty, she gets a lethal injection from that one guy who's been hounding Reese. But, since Reese knows how these guys do things, Carter, Finch, and Miles Straume abscond with her body and administer the cure (which, why did they need the Miles guy for that? I mean, its cool to see him, but it seemed kinda random). Of course, she still turns down Finch and Reese down, and I guess she's gonna be yet another wild card in this game? Geez, between, her, Root, Elias, HR, that one English guy who intimated he was part of a powerful mercenary group, and the actual machine people, there's a whole lot of players in this.
Suits- Wow, Harvey does have trust issues. Heh, I'm amused the Scottie had to go to Donna, knowing that only Donna could convince Harvey she was being truthful. I mean, its kinda funny that Scottie thought this was the only way she could get his attention, because as she and Donna both pointed out, if she was all, "Harvey, I love you, I want to get together" he'd be all, "Okay, what's your game?"
Anyways, Harvey tries to stop the merger by taking cases against the Spider's clients and makes a bet with him and Jessica. If Harvey wins, they don't merge. If they win, he can't leave and will have to earn his name on the wall the hard way. The spider has the upper hand for most of the ep, until Scottie gives Mike a smoking gun (again, she could not give it to Harvey, because he has so many trust issues there's no way he wouldn't hink it was a trap). Unfortunately, Jessica threatens to expose Mike, so Harvey loses. The relationship between him and Mike is strained now, and Scottie gets canned for helping him. But, he does try to make it right, he convinces the Spider not to fire her, but that brings us to one of our cliffhangers- he will hire Scottie back, but gives Harvey the choice, does she work here, or in London. So, does he finally fight for someone, or will he pussy out and send her away?
Mike obviously has a bad day. He just betrayed his friend, not knowing he killed Harvey's chance at making partner. Harvey wanted to fire him, but Jessica over-ruled him. Which brings us to the Rachel sitch. Louis spared her feelings by taking the blame, but while kinda sweet, also kinda dumb. Because it isn't fair, and did he think a lawyer or prospective lawyer was the kinda person who would take that lying down? Mike gets pulled in, because she drafted a letter discussing this unfairness, and wanted Mike, as a Harvard alum, to sign it. Obviously, he can't.
He tries to get Louis to break Rachel's heart by saying she didn't get in because they didn't think she was good enough. And he's kinda chicken, until he screwed over a new friend he made, his equivalent in the Spider's firm. They had bonded, and knowing as efficiency experts, they couldn't both work there (it would be INEFFICIENT! ha!) So they resolve to not put the fact that the merged firms don't need both of them. BUT! Louis dedication to making a true efficient judgement would trump any sentimality, and thought since the Nigel guy thought exactly like him, he would also leave Louis' name in the report. So he kept Nigel's name in, thinking no harm, no foul. Unfortunately, Donna lets him now Nigel kept his word. So he resolved to do right by Rachel by telling her the truth.
And so she's furious when she goes to Mike, because she learns Mike didn't sign the letter, and it feels like a betrayal because why isn't he trying to help her. Having lost so much already this year, and having just lost Harvey, Mike says he can't lose her. And she says he will unless he finally says what's up. And so he reveals his secret to her. She slaps him twice. But then they have hot sex in the records room.
