Degrassi- So this was Vegas special. I'm amused by Drew's panic that Katie ended up going to Vegas too (along with Marisol, Mo, and Jake) that he invites them to all the wedding stuff. Way to make things incredibly awkward! Of course, its half panic at what to do since Katie and Bianca were together right there in the middle of the plane aisle, but also because he was starting to realize how ridiculous it was to get married at 18 in Vegas.
So he ends up calling his mom, saying he thinks he was making a mistake. Not deciding to marry Bianca, but just running off an eloping, because he wants his whole family there. Of course, when Audra shows up, she mentions the whole Drew thinking its a mistake thing, which hurts Bianca. She thinks Drew agrees with his mom that Bianca's not good enough for him (which is one of the more annoying things I think they did on this show, because I actually liked the Audra-Bianca dynamic)
Eventually, Drew makes a heartfelt apology by singing to her in public while dressed as Elvis, and finally explains, he does still want to marry her, but he wants the big wedding, with all his family. So, thankfully, Drew and Bianca don't get married, but they're not broken up either.
The Katie subplot was weird. So, she get accepted to Stanford, but her family can't afford it. So she gets the "bright" idea to go to Vegas and count cards to win her tuition. And I thought she's supposed to be a smart girl?! Anyhoo, she loses all her money, but she meets the guy who created facerange. He offers to pay all the money she lost if she spends the day with him. Which is extremely creepy when you think about it, because he knows she's in HS. Of course, it does got the prostitute place when he offers to pay her entire 1st year at Stanford if she sleeps with him.
And she almost does it, but then thinks better of it. Still, she ends up breaking up with Jake over all this. He doesn't understand what's so great about Stanford, and she accuses him of being a stoner loser if he doesn't understand why its great. Now, she prolly shouldn't have put it in that way, but honestly, I'd have to agree with her. If he doesn't understand why Stanford is important to her, they prolly aren't right for each other.
Still, it was amusing that Katie actually went to the wedding, given she lost all her money and had the relationship crisis. Because that's the perfect time to go to your ex's wedding! HA! It was funny how she was kinda jealous, not b/c she wanted Drew, but because she felt he was "winning" after the breakup. She has no money and can't get into the college of her dreams, she blew her knee, had a drug problem, meanwhile he's getting married and "has a job". Of course, its funny she thinks him working at a mall kiosk is a real job.
