Last Resort: What's with the ass-clown they sent to spy on Kendal's wife? He sucks! Could he be more transparent about his motives?! I mean, he definitely shoulda backed off when it was clear she wasn't believing the fake e-mails about selling to the Chinese. Yeah, he's prolly on a deadline, but he was pushing way too hard! Its like, give her space and wait a day! Let her mull it in her head and drive herself crazy.
But then at dinner he was all, "Oh, I was married once, but it didn't work out! ISN'T IT WEIRD HOW PEOPLE YOU MARRY CAN CHANGE? DO YOU NOT TRUST YOUR HUSBAND YET?!" And then the whole mind if I stay over? So I'm glad they had her know exactly what was going on when Kylie came over.
The negotiations were interesting. It seems like Marcus was fighting for his day in court to get the truth (was the Admiral guy wanting him to hold out though, because things are wrong in the country, and they're the last shining example standing against the lie?), but nope, he was just trying to look like a zealot, so the secretary guy could think he split Marcus and Kendal up. Because Chaplin felt that that was the only way the negotiations would work, someone had to be hung out to dry. So he sacrificed himself.
Unfortunately, due to a failed sonar array, and Grace leading a skeleton crew on the sub for a repair, it led to a sitch that caused the negotiator lady to tear up the deal, because they thought they had a chance to destroy the sub. Again, the government folks were idiots. They brought the Admiral to try and help with negotiations, but how the eff were they not expecting him to react the way he did when they were about to order the death of his daughter. I suppose they didn't think he could get to a gun that fast, but still! His delay gives his daughter enough time to outsmart the attacking forces and get her nukes wound up for launch to threaten them back over the border.
The mission does finally get her the respect of the T-1000 and Navy Seal guy though. Though that victory was prolly short lived after Marcus had to end up telling her what her dad did. Which, Chaplin said it will be as the negotiations never happened because the secretary won't want people to know they were there? So what does that mean for her dad? On the one hand, he killed a government official and shot another. Do they just disappear him? Or since the negotiations didn't take place, he didn't shoot them, and they let him be but keep a close watch on him? I mean, I don't think they can let that act go? But how will the explain the lady's death and the secretary being shot and his disappearance or arrest?
