geebsIt really sucks when you can't get in touch with your family. I already confirmed they are okay, but it would be nice to be able to check in on
them. I was able to get a hold of my mom before they started evacuating this morning. She told me my dad was okay (he works in that smoky area) and was trying desperately to get home. Of course, the whole experience was unnerving, I had the shakes for an hour. I mean, its been one of my worst damn nightmares since I was a kid. My whole extended family works in Manhattan. And obviously, NYC and particularly Manhattan is one of the most lucrative targets in the world. If I die, whatever, but I couldn't deal with my family getting wiped out like that. That's why I really hate terrorism. Did my family or I do anything personally to you? Just because I was born in
America and adopted its ways we're targets? Fuck you.
I've tried checking in again, but all the lines are busy. I had to call my cuz in Long Island to confirm everyone in my family was okay. And even
then I didn't get any real details, I had to check on her online journal to know what happenned. My dad was part of that smoky exodus, he had trouble breathing so he bought a mask and eventually hitched a ride home. And all my other relatives made it back all right.

I feel extra detached. I know everyone is safe, but am not physically with them to share in their experience. It seems I am less effected than them, but am still effected.
