Pretty Little Liars- Wow, a show where someone (Caleb) actually uses a reasonably complex password- the first letters of all the cities he's lived in, alternating capitals and lower case, 4 number (the date he first effed his gf, HA!), and an exclamation point. I mean, more than 10 characters, a mix of capitals and lower case, numbers, and special characters? Its refreshing to see a TV character use proper password complexity, instead of a significant word or phrase like you usually see in TV or movies.
So we finally find out Holden's deal. I dunno, after all the buildup (possibly being gay, or into the swirl, or a drug dealer or a drug user or in a secret underground fight club) the reality was kinda disappointing. Apparently he has a congenital heart condition, so his parents are very overprotective, and would flip their wigs if they found out what he was doing while Aria's on her dates with Ezra- he's taking tang soo do and participating in fight competitions. The bruise was an injury from a sparring match, and the pills were pain meds, which he never took.
Despite his parents wanting to keeping him close and safe, he knows that his condition could kill him no matter where he is and what he's doing, he'd rather be living life rather than letting it pass him by. Because those things can hit out of nowhere. Its fortunate that Aria found out, and worried for Holden, stayed to watch his match instead of meeting with Ezra.
Because, A told Aria's dad where she was going to be eating with Ezra. So, her dad gets there early, hoping to ambush them. So Aria misses getting caught, and Ezra manages to spot Byron and sneak away without being seen. Byron calls Aria to check on her, and since she actually is with Holden, when Byron asks to speak with him, he's there to answer. So, he feels quite foolish.
In Emily's storyline, Maya's parents find a joint, so they're threatening to send her back to True North. She's also getting jealous of Emily fitting in so well, now that she's back on the Sharks (heh, Emily actually mentions Paige, though we don't see her, so given what happens with Maya, I wonder if she'll show up). She can't go back to True North, so she wants Emily to run away with her to San Francisco. Emily can't abandon the liars, so she can't leave, though Maya thinks its because she's back as the star athlete.
In the Hannah/Caleb storyline, the cops confiscate Caleb's laptop, thinking he hacked into school files. The cops (well Wilder) also bring in Hannah and Ashley over the missing page from Alison's autopsy report, having a picture of the girls in candy striper outfits standing outside the morgue. (Hannah lies that they were at the hospital trying to dare Spencer to spend some time in the morgue, but since they actually didn't steal the pages, just read the report, she doesn't trigger Ashley's lie detection) Still, Ashley doesn't take Wilder's accusations that seriously (I mean, she's still upset) because he only took in the one lady he had a thing with, and not the other two girls and their moms?
Anyways, since Caleb can't get remotely get into his laptop to delete any files A may have planted since its not online., he has to rely on plan B- access his laptop as the police asks, and hope Hannah can hack in and erase the files once its back online. Heh, I'm sure he was crapping a brick, since he had to rely on Hannah to figure out the plan from "I'm in a HOT SPOT". Yeah, he did mention his wireless hotspot when they were talking earlier, but no offense to Hannah, but I'm surprised she figured it out.
She manages to remember Caleb's password (having explained the meaning earlier), and she and Spencer manage to erase the files. While Wilder opened the folder they were in, mind you, so he knows there were files there that disappeared, but Caleb chalks it up to a virus, and says it is as he claimed, that he had been hacked. Its interesting though, that Garrett was watching the whole deal with extreme interest as well. On the one hand, he does want to see Caleb go down so he won't have to worry about him anymore, but on the other, Caleb made it clear there were videos of Garrett on there. So if Caleb went down, I'm guessing he would've exposed Garrett as well?
Finally, in the Spencer storyline, she confronts Jason, who had found an old box of Alison's with letters between his mom and Spencer's dad, as well as money. They think it was a pay off from her dad to keep Ali quiet. So Spencer confronts her dad about it, but he claims while he did lie about the affair, he never paid money to anyone in the Delaurentis family about it. She tells Jason, who doesn't believe it. But eventually he calms down and says he realizes he only wanted it to be her dad because that would make it so easy and it would all be over. Then he says maybe they're both bull headed like that because they have the same genes.
Then she asks for the money. Why? Turns out the number they found was for a guy who worked at the phone company, whom Ali was paying to figure out who was sending the A texts. He never got paid (because he's unaware Ali's dead) and given he lost his job (and almost lost his gf, what with him getting a bunch of calls from teenage girls), he wants compensation. $2000 worth. Alas, they do not go with the "bikini car wash" idea they mentioned during their brainstorming on how to get the money.
HIMYM- Barney's new love interest is pretty interesting, but the Robin stuff is insane. I can't believe they're going back to that well. So Robin breaks up with Kevin because of the kids thing. And she drops all this emotion on Ted, who, feeling empty after not having a serious relationship in a while, tells her he still loves her. WTF?!!
As for Barney's new girl Quinn, she seems to have Barney's number. And also happens to be a stripper at Barney's favorite strip club, whom he somehow does not recognize!
Smash- Wow, I'm actually surprised they've resolved who got the role, Ivy or Karen, so quickly! But, given Ivy banged the director, which does not seem like it influenced the decision that much, since it was a group decision, I'm sure that will lead to problems in the coming eps.
