So a bunch of new DW7 DLC came out, so I downloaded those. So now I have my Jia Xu Assassin's Creed outfit. But many of the new fantasy costumes for the other characters are good as well. I like Wang Yi's and Zhong Hui's, and I love Xiahou Ba's new armor, vast improvement over his normal look.
There were some new weapon packs as well. They were the jokey kind though. Mostly silly skins, but surprisingly enough, the weapons were all nightmare level attack power, even for the DLC weapons from DW7! That has me hopeful the upcoming DLC weapons (Cao Ren's buckler blade from the previous games, Da Qiao's twin canes from DW6, and a couple of other ones I don't recognize) will have attack power on par with the highest level of the other weapons. Because otherwise its kinda pointless to use those weapons if they're way weaker than the others. I just hope they have them in "normal" skins, not goofy skins.
Its unfortunate that the weapon pack includes a death element nightmare level podao for Xiahou Dun, which is good since the normal elements on his weapons suck, but bad because it looks incredibly goofy. I think its supposed to be a big cricket bat looking thing with an image of Lu Bu on it?! As much as I want a death element weapon for Xiahou Dun, I'm not gonna run around with something so silly looking. Same for Xu Huang's great axe. Its nightmare level attack power, and a good element, but again, its something silly. However, the new sickle and chain and twin swords weapons are death element. And even though they have a ski bent (the twin swords are supposed to be ski poles, and the sickle and chain is one of those ice climber's picks) they don't look silly, so now Jia Xu and Gan Ning have a decent nightmare weapon, and I don't have to stick with the chaos level weapon for Cao Pi/Lu Xun/Liu Bei.
There are also some new stages. Cool, the last DLC stage pack had a you alone vs all of Wei and a you alone vs all of Wu stage. I was wondering why there was no you alone vs Shu, but that's because its here in this stage pack. It does seem a little harder than the other two, but only because the Shu are more aggressive, and the stage is chock full of ballistas and juggernauts.
TV commentary:
Criminal Minds- Wow, talk about a weird and random way for me to learn "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and Air Supply's "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" were written by the same guy. Anyhoo, I was exclaiming at the TV, why they would have that grey haired dude from the Shield as a random bar patron Dina Meyer meets, because its like, "Gee, he's that guy from the Shield and a bunch of other shows, could he be the killer?" But it was fine, because the show went in a totally unexpected (and improbable) direction!
So wait, Shield guy is a serial rapist called "the Piano Man", and then some random hospital orderly decides to take advantage of the situation since he has access to their record, and rapes them as well, making it look like it was the original rapist back for more.
But then Piano Man realizes some other dude is attacking his conquests. So he goes after the orderlies next victims and kills one of them and tries to frame rapist two for it, hoping they'll think rapist two was the only rapist all along. Which is a fine plot. But then they have Dina Meyer recognize him at the bar and have her capture him and kidnap and torture him?! That part was unexpected.
Anyways. I wasn't sure if Piano Man was going to do the same thing to Dina Meyer he did to the other girl, and he was indeed hunting her that night (but she got him first), or if he has been taking perverse pleasure from stalking all his former victims. Because on the one hand, orderly guy said he had the murdered girl and Dina Meyer lined up as his next victims. But Piano Man already killed the one girl and framed orderly guy for it, so I wouldn't think he'd need to risk doing it twice (although I guess he could be trying to establish a pattern) and he also said a couple of things that made it seem like he kept tabs on his victims.
Which was weird, because eventually during their interactions, I thought he did finally admit he was the Piano Man, but then the show tried to act that maybe Dina Meyer was wrong and she went crazy and did capture some random innocent dude (like not hearing Garcia say the results of the fingerprint test over the phone) I mean, were they trying to fool the audience, because I thought the show revealed Shield guy was the bad guy, but then the way they set up Emily telling Dina Meyer she had the wrong guy, it seemed like Emily might be telling the truth. I mean, I was sure it was a ruse by her to get Dina to not kill the guy, but like I said, it seemed set up like maybe the audience doesn't know either way, even though it seems like they made it clear.
