TV commentary:

Castle- Weird, I totally did not recognize the reality star chick as Hilarie Burton at first. I guess it was mostly the hair (she seems to change her hair often!), but also because she seemed to be playing more mature roles, like Sara on White Collar. But here she seemed to be playing younger.

Hart of Dixie- I think I've been starting to pinpoint why Lemon annoys, she's more Lauren from MIOBI than Blair from Gossip Girl. They're all pretty mean bitches. I don't know if its Leighton Meester giving Blair some likable nuances, or the way Blair is written, but I at least feel sympathy for her character. Lauren and Lemon? Not so much. Maybe its that they all have abandonment/esteem issues, but while Blair has a Serena to be constantly compared to, someone who often unintentionally takes from Blair, the other two make up a conflict with another girl in their head and make it more than it needs to be. (Zoe for Lemon, every other girl on the show for Lauren) Though I guess for the two blonds, their frenemy is a scrappy underdog, someone trying to finally get a chance to shine and they're too selfish to let go of the spotlight, whereas with Blair, she's the one who's awesome and no one can see it because Serena is always outshining her without even trying.

I guess there's also her interactions with Zoe- with them two its all catty bitchiness. Whereas with Brick, he seems to be as annoyed with Zoe as his daughter, but he has something to back up that annoyance. Yeah, he wanted to finally have the practice to himself, and Zoe comes in out of the blue, but at least his gripes are more legitimate than that. As he said, she may be a good doctor, but she kinda sucks at the bedside manner. And I think this episode was also good in highlighting that conflict- Bluebell seems like a stepping stone to her, some place she doesn't want to be, so why is she? And as he said, the whole never asking until now about this whole friggin side of her family she never knew seemed to indicate that. So I actually liked the end, where he was warmly telling her about all her relatives. Moreso than her and Lemon's truce after Zoe gave her the pep talk about how she's not going to turn out like her mom.

Also, its odd that this show is about Zoe, but they spend so much time on side plots. I guess they want to give the other characters something to do, but the side plot with Levon and Didi (it still weirds me out to hear Catalina with a Southern accent) took up more screen time than was necessary. At least the stuff with Wade and George told us more about their characters, which is somewhat important since they're both potential love interests for Zoe.

And I realize its the 21st century, but its still interesting how integrated the town is for a small Southern town. I mean, the Belles even have a couple of non-whites among their number! Aren't they like the equivalent of some sort of Daughters of the Confederacy sort of group?!

Holy crap, that was her. I spent the whole episode thinking she was hot but I didn't even think she looked familiar.
