Walking Dead- So that happened. Sophia was in the Walker Barn the whole time. Because she became a walker! So that's another deviation from the comic. Honestly, she's not that integral to the comic plot, other than making an insta-family with Glenn and Maggie after Carol's death, and protecting her being one of Carl's motivations for wanting to be tougher. Anyways, too much time had passed, so I think a lot of the audience would have found it implausible if she was still alive.
I'm still trying to figure out the timeline though. Since Otis was the one herding Walkers into the barn, are they implying he took her to the barn? And he was prolly unaware the group was looking for a little girl since he was busy getting the medical supplies for Carl and died before he mentioned it to anyone in the group? I'm curious if he had told Herschel, "Hey, I put this girl I don't know into the barn!" though. Because it makes Herschel look like kinda an a-hole if he didn't let them know they were risking their lives for nothing by going out on fruitless searches. (I mean, Daryl almost died looking!) Even if he was "protecting" Sophia because he was worried they were put her down if they knew she was a walker.
I wanna give Herschel the benefit of the doubt and say it was something that slipped through the cracks, and Otis didn't have time to tell Herschel. Because I would think if he knew he had their girl, then he would use that as an argument against killing the barn zombies. He mentioned his own family in there, but he could've made the argument that its easy for them to judge him for not being able to let his family go, but how about them?
And you know, I was finding the whole thing with Daryl and Carol (Hey, I just realized they rhyme) pretty weird. But then I remembered Tyrese doesn't exist here (And I doubt he's ever going to show up, because there's no point bringing him in when he's just going to end up eventually getting killed. Since Abraham effectively replaced him, might as well just jump straight to him) perhaps they're going to shunt his story with Carol to him?
If they did, that would be kinda interesting. Well, not the him and Carol thing, but Michonne coming between them, given she's black and Daryl is kinda racist. Also, if they did make Merle the Governor, it would be interesting to see if Daryl will end up meeting the same fate as Tyrese then. I mean, I can see that, because if Daryl sides with the group against a Merle-Governor, Merle might kill his brother for choosing them over him.
Of course, that's a ways off. I'm not even sure they'll get to the prison by the end of this season. Well, they might, because Herschel's prolly gonna kick them out after the events of this ep. Actually, given Herschel has way less living kids here, and it would be a bitch to put the fake scars on Andrea for the rest of the series, maybe they'll just skip the whole serial killer part at the jail, and frankly not that much happens at the prison besides that pre-Governor. I'm predicting the second six eps has them getting to the prison, dealing with some crap, meeting Michonne, and then finding a living Merle as the Governor in the season finale. Actually, if Merle ended up being the Governor, that would make the stuff he does to Michonne way too controversial. I mean, obviously it would already be way less graphic on the TV show than it was in the comics, but the fact that he's a huge racist might make people freak the geek out to have him brutally rape a black woman.
Of course, I'm curious if they will have Michonne on the show. I mean, she's a big character in the comics (she, Glenn, Andrea, and Abraham form Rick's core leadership circle), but I wonder if the TV audience might find her a little too fantastical. Random warrior black lady with a katana?
