So, Netflix had suggested the anime Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom for me. I've been watching it since the series seems interesting enough. Its one of those super-competent teen assassin animes, though this time its a boy and a girl, rather than a bunch of girls.
Its interesting so far, though in my initial search to find out what the hell netflix was suggesting for me, I see in typical anime fashion, it eventually strays from crime/spy intrigue into some weird spiritual BS. But I'll prolly still watch it through to the end. The soundtrack is kinda odd though, because the male assasssin's "killing" theme music sounds exactly like "Burly Brawl" from the Matrix Reloaded, only its not that song. Though there was also a fight scene where the background music is kinda a mix of one of the Matrix songs with something out of the Conan movies, if you can imagine that.
TV commentary:
Burn Notice- So, Burn Notice is back. Interesting ep, particularly in how Michael gets back together with the gang and how he ends up back in Miami. So, Mike's back with the CIA. Only his burn notice hasn't actually been lifted, they're employing him as a CIA consultant. And the past 6 months he's been working with them and cutting a swath through the list. Eventually, they give him a break, wherein he goes to Miami. To his surprise Jesse is back. Unlike Mikey, his burn notice is gone. But after all the Robin Hood shit they've done, government work holds no interest for him. Wonder if Michael will follow suit?
Anyways, the CIA calls him back in for a prominent lead, and given Fi and Sam helped Mike get the list that the CIA has been using to take down the organization, he insists they come along and be there to help finish things. And its a good thing they do. Because the show makes the CIA folks to reliant on all that support, so when things go pear shaped, since Mike, Fi and Sam are used to having to do things "the hard way", they salvage the mission.
Unfortunately, the guy they're after supposedly killed himself rather than get taken. So, the trail's gone cold, and they drop Michael off in Miami, and will call him if anything new comes up. Interesting I wonder if the show will now have him occasionally do missions for the government, but since he's just stuck waiting in Miami, he'll go back to what he has been doing,
Oh, anyways, Jesse's currently hooked up with a Private Security Company, which reminds me, whatever happened to that security company China Chow used to run? It was disappointing they didn't do more with her.
