TV Commentary:
Game of Thrones- How hott was that final scene? Nekkid chick with a couple of little baby dragons writhing all over her? spcv('Nice!') But aw, those hatchlings are so cute! And you thought the Stark kids' dire wolves were cuties!
Heh, if there was any doubt about Ned dying before, its certainly been erased by having Ned's head on display on a pike. Yeah, a lot of people are pissed, all, you can't kill the main hero, but who said he was the main character anyways? They act like he was the only compelling character, but the series is full of plenty of cool and/or interesting characters who I think played as big a role in the story as we've seen it so far if not more so than Ned. I mean, his whole family is still alive, and they all have their own stories to tell. You have Robb, whose men have sworn fealty to him, all, "eff the southerners and their kingdom, Robb is our king now!" and him leading them on the path to avenge his dad's death, with his mum helping to guide him. Jon Snow's up in the North, with a new family of sorts, heading to face an even more dangerous threat than the petty wars of the South. And he has Arya heading his way, the girl disguised as a boy, on the run and hanging with a caravan of thieves, brigands and other unsavory types. Even Sansa is starting to get a backbone. She's forced to be Joffrey's soon to be wife, but he made a misstep killing her dad and trying to taunt her with it to get her in line. She definitely seems like she's biding her time. Joffrey should watch out, because look what happened to the last seemingly meek princess type! Dany just became the goddess of a bunch of barbarian warriors!
Its kinda amusing, because the Lannisters are having to defend their newly acquired throne from the Baratheons, and the pissed off Starks, and now Dany's prolly coming with her new people (and dragons!) People though this was a Ned tale, but its really more about the children. Not just his, or the Mad King's, but even the Lannisters. Its interesting that as carefree and eff it as Tyrion seemed when we first met him, the Imp still very much seeks his father's approval, despite his whole "if the world thinks you're a bastard, than be one!" attitude. And he felt like he almost got it when his father apologized for thinking him useless, and sending him back to King's Landing to become the new Hand for Joffrey to keep the little prick in line before he eff things up even worse. But then Tywin had to be all, "But don't bring your whore!" So even though he seemed kinda pleased his father is actually counting on him now, the whole "keeping up appearances" thing is the one thing that really pisses Tyrion off, so he is bringing Shae, because eff his dad.
And even with all the fighting going on between these families, the Starks, the Baratheons, the Lannisters, the Targaryens, I think its those advisors that people really need to watch out for. Littlefinger, the Spider, Pycelle. They seem like mere servants, but they're the slickest out of everyone. I mean, we've seen the treachery Baelish is capable of when he betrayed Ned, and Varys seems all harmless because he's a eunuch, but you can tell what a trickster he is from the way he talks. But even the old man acts all weak, pretending to be a weak, senile old fop to the hot red-headed whore chick. And as they've all said, kings come and go, but they're still around serving the next person to come into power. I can see why the Spider wouldn't actually want the iron throne, they all seem to be sitting pretty right where they are.
I dunno why video for LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem amuses me so: (Yeah, I know its a couple of months old, but I'm behind the times)
Maybe its because its like a zombie apocalypse, but instead of zombies, it has people who randomly burst into dance?
Speaking of videos I like, I never actually commented on Taylor Swift's Story of Us video when it came out a few weeks ago:
It already gets points in my book for having Taylor Swift in a schoolgirl outfit. Anyhoo, the things that get me about this video are, why the pianist chick is so fervent compared to the rest of the band, and why the drummer is like an old dude.
But Taylor had a bunch of videos released within a short time, as Mean came out only a couple of weeks before:
Call me lame, but I think its a pretty sweet video with a nice "It Gets Better" message.
