Owel, finally back at work. And its only 9. I thought I had been here for more than an hour. Especially since I was keeping up with correspondence, that usually kills time. Anyways, went to trivia with Bill and Joseph last night. Grant eventually showed up with some friends of his I didn't know. Well, our old roommate Rob ended up coming. Grant also said Nick Black had expressed an interest in coming. He didn't show up until halfway through or near the end, and was sans Marilyn. Alas, he didn't partcipate anyways. I had heard he and the little lady kicked ass at trivia games, so I was wanting to see his wits in action. I mean, since they flaked out at that board game party thrown at the old place before we moved, I haven't had a chance to see if they lived up to the hype, if they could even beat the dream team! I just got an e-mail from [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out saying he might be able to get all of the players of the dream team assembled next week. More on that later.

Getting on to the results. We totally got our asses kicked. Even if Krug, Scott, and Sato were there, I don't think we would have done any better. Well, mebbe Scott might have known the music questions. Which were: What did Queen's Brian May get a Phd in? And who wrote "Harden my Heart"? I've heard the song a million times, I just don't know who did it. I think Chris would have known the answer to the military question.

So who is the dream team anyways? Me, Scott, the GMA, and Jbarkle. Actually, I'd put Joseph in there, because he and Bill seem to work off each other, especially in sports trivia. Plus, being a foreigner, he can provide one of those foreign perspectives. Of course, we're still lacking in military/history and sci-fi/fantasy knowledge, so I think throwing in Chris and/or Krug would balance things out. I think that also covers all of the major European languages. And since Scott would prolly bring the wife, she and Joseph could piece together any Asian questions. Granted, someone reading this would say: Okay, so what exactly do YOU contribute? Hey, I know stuff! Not anything that they would usually ask a question on, but I think there are some totally off the wall questions that I could get. I'm the wildcard! Really!

the foreign perspective...that has to be one of your classic lines...

"harden my heart" would be a jbarkle question--i don't think i've ever heard of that song before...i can't tell you brian may's major either off the top of my head, but something tells me i've read it before--if i had the multiple choice guesses, there'd be a possibility...

i'll keep you posted on the news for next week...

Nope, sorry! We too answered physics, but it was astronomy. Figured it was one of the two. Though physics seemed more like a "music" major.

Okay, so what exactly do YOU contribute?

I'd say the obvious would be all the pop-culture questions with GMA in support.

Eh, the problem is they don't make trivia questions on most of the stuff I know. What's up with that?
