Saw Easy A last night. Its an amusing movie, and Emma Stone is pretty hot in it. But that's like the second movie I've seen with Dan Humphrey where he's the main love interest, and he's hardly in it. (The second being John Tucker Must Die) Call me corny, but the most amusing part to me was when Olive was referencing old 80s movies like Pretty in Pink, The Breakfast Club, Can't Buy Me Love and Say Anything, and how she wished some guy would do that, and in the end Todd does combine all those when he goes to see her, arriving on the lawnmower and holding up the radio outside her window. I thought it was cute.
TV commentary:
Game of Thrones- Is it me, or are Syrio and Khal Drogo total bad-asses? And heh, I'm amused by Robb's position. Yeah, they're grossly outnumbered. But they're in an easy position, they have to win, or they're effed. So at the very least, they'll be fighting their damnedest to the bitter end, because otherwise all is lost.
I definitely love the series, and I fully intend to read the books when I get the chance. I've cheated a little though. The characters and story are so interesting to me that I had to know more. So I am pretty spoiled.
But yeah, even though I won't go into that much detail with what I know, don't read on if you're only watching the show and aren't going to read the books and don't want to be spoiled.
Anyways, one thing I find totally interesting are the number of people they have that seem like randoms when you first meet them, but come to find they stick around for a while and are in between minor and significant players through the books. But also, people you think are the stars, who end up being toast. Yeah, while I remark about the bad-assedness of Syrio and Drogo, I do know their ultimate fates in the scheme of things, as well as those of several of the other major players.
But yeah, despite knowing this, I'll still read the books. I'm pretty good at compartmentalizing, so even when I know some big reveal, I can usually turn that part of my brain off so that I can enjoy the twist or what have you as if I hadn't known it was coming. Also, for me, stories have always been about the journey, not the end game. Some people, if they know how a story turns out, that's it for them, there's no point in reading it because they know what happens. Me, I like to see how they get there.
