More Doctor Who commentary:

Of all the allies the Doc picks up for this ep, Madame Vastra and Jenny were by far the most interesting ones. I mean, a bad-ass Silurian warrior chick and her human maid/lesbo lover from Victorian England? Definitely hope to see more of them in another ep. Also, heh, when Rory was telling Strax how performed valiantly as a warrior, even though he claimed he was a nurse, I think of the parallels between the two, given Rory was also a nurse thrust into the warrior's role.

DW7 stuff:

Finally got every trophy in DW7, but since the PS store is back online, I got every piece of DLC available so far. Glad I had all that money piled up, as I was able to buy up all the weapons. Also finished all the DLC weapon stages as well. As I complained in a previous post, its really annoying that the dagger-axe/scythe is not a 3-star weapon for Yue Ying. I mean, even the dagger-axe stage, she's the person you fight for it, so they acknowledge its her weapon!

But yeah, bombs are apparently Huang Gai's, the dw6 mace is Xiahou Dun's, but the "short halberd" has Gan Ning as the person you fight for it. Amusingly enough, they aren't actually using those weapons when you fight them. In any case, not a fan of the elements on Dagger-Axe, as fire is the worst element, while Ice isn't as cool as it used to be (ha!). The bombs are pretty good, and the best ones are 4 and 5 slotters. Don't remember the elements on the short halberd, but move set wise, its a solid weapon.

I love the mace, even though I had previously complained about Xiahou Dun having that instead of the scimitar in the 6th installment. It has good elements too- it can be had in the death or lightning versions, unfortunately the former version is only 3 slots, whereas the latter has only 2 slots. Which kinda sucks since I've been finding double element lightning-death works better than synergy and two death element weapons. Anyways, I'm finding I prefer it to the sword as it has a better move set. Its hard to chain higher than a 12 hit combo with him, as his ex-attack and c6 push the enemies too far back, and given he follows the enemy up on his c2 and knocks them down that breaks any chains also. And just spamming c5 is kinda boring. Whereas with the mace, once you get them down low enough, you can stun them with a c3, and following up with a c6 should get you high enough to get at least 16 hits (which is good enough to turn a +2 drop to a +4 one)

And yeah, the DLC stages definitely have +8 drops. The first Hu Lao gate DLC stage, Lu Bu automagically drops a +8, while the PC generals (Diao Chan, Zhang Liao, Jia Xu) and some of the non-unique generals (Hua Xiong, Hu Che'er) give +4 drops, so you can make them +8s if you manage a 24-hit combo. Speaking of Hu Che'er, he's that kinda ninja looking guy who works for Zhang Xiu. Amusingly enough, according to the history books, he's not Chinese, he was a foreigner, possible from the Middle East. But heh, instead of going for an Arabic looking design like they did with Jia Xu, for some reason they went with "ninja"?

His character design is unique enough in this installment, that I'd think he'd be another one on the list of people they could upgrade to PC status in the next game. I mean, he was supposedly the best warrior in Zhang Xiu's army, and is one of the people who join Lu Bu. Plus, the whole "foreigner" thing also makes him interesting.
