Jul. 24th, 2002 08:09 amWent to media play last night after work. Picked up "The One" and the 6th Cowboy Bebop DVDs. Also got the hard sell from this kinda cute nerd girl to get one of them replay cards or whatever you call them. I was prolly gonna pick one up when I eventually got a PS2 for the double points, but they're having a triple point weekend mid august. So, I got the card with the intent of getting a PS2 that weekend.
Driving home was crazy. It just started pouring down. Visibility was almost nil and some areas had an inch or more of water on the road! So it was an interesting drive. Especially when it started hailing and thundering. A lot of people pulled over, but I'm a press on kinda guy. Before you say, "You're crazy!" here's my mentality: Everyone who is staying on the road isn't going that fast. With you and everyone else around you inching forward very, very slowly, the chances of an accident are nil. But what about the maniacs who are driving fast and might cause an accident? No one's that stupid, and even if they are everyone is slow and tightly packed so its impossible to move that fast. And even if they could, you're no more safer on the side of the road, because with the visibility that low, the guy could accidentally wander to the side and smash into the stopped cars. But I digress.
No trivia last night. The horrible weather stopped by then, but Grant, Scott, and Sato were unable to make it, and I called the GMA to find out if he and Joseph were going, but he hadn't heard from him. So we cancelled. It gave me a chance to finish the last of the hot dogs in the fridge. Watched "The One". I remember when I saw it in the theater with Krug, Chris, and Jeremy, they hated it, but I don't think it was too bad. I thought the fights were pretty cool, actually. Speaking of super-powered fights, I can't wait until Blade II comes out on DVD.
Anyways, with nothing going on last night, it gave me a chance to go to bed early and catch up on some sleep. Of course, I still didn't feel like getting up in the morning, but I did.
