TV commentary:
Chuck- So Sarah used to be part of Charlie's Angel-esque team of hottie spies called the CAT squad? spcv('nice!')
HIMYM- Interesting, so will this Nora chick gonna be a recurring character? She does seem somewhat similar to Robin, except English/Middle Eastern. It was odd though, because the way they set this ep, with Robin protesting V-day, and Barney celebrating "Desperation Day" and stressing the importance of not ending up with a chick after midnight, you'd think that it was gonna end up with them together for V-day. But it was Nora who ended being the chick that Barney ended up ignoring the desperate chyx for. Then at the Lazer Tag tournament, where Robin was supposed to be Barney's partner, she sends over Nora instead as a gift for him.
Huh, with her similarities to Robin, I wonder if she's gonna be the catalyst for Barney and Robin getting back together? I mean, Robin's the only girl Barney's ever been serious with, but if Nora is a recurring character, and Barney starts dating her, it might make Robin jealous, paving the way for the BROTP reuniting.
Gossip Girl- Ah, great episode full of some nice Dair scenes. Part of me is hopeful this is like the second half of DC season 3, and Dan and Blair will end up being GG's version of Joey and Pacey. But then another part of me thinks the writers will have their fun with this coupling, then ruin it to get Chuck and Blair back together.
You know, I don't think Chuck and Blair are destined to be end game. They scheme and have fun, but they're kinda toxic together. Plus, their storylines have just gotten stale, its the same thing over and over again. I'm not sure what else you can do with them over and over again. Raina had it on the nose when she was telling Chuck that he will give those he cares about the world, until he thinks they betray him, then he ruins them. Blair's kinda like that too, just in this ep she screwed over Serena because she thought Serena was messing with her. And their relationship has been that same vicious cycle. They're together, but then their distrust and paranoia get the better of them, and they ended up frakking it all up. Lather, rinse, repeat.
And I don't think they could progress from being like that sticking with each other. Dan is a great thing for Blair. Of course, the rabid Chair fans are blind to this. There are those who think the writers are just out of ideas and are throwing everyone together. Dan and Blair have always had chemistry. And I think that's been demonstrated as early as the fourth episode of the show. Then there are those who say they're making Blair OOC having her with Dan. First of all, they've always been had similar interests, despite the class difference. And if it was OOC for her to be friends with/like Dan, then she would just be a terrible character. Hey, I like evil bitches, but it would be retarded if she stayed unwaveringly class-ist. Why would anyone get behind a character like that, that refuses to grow out of such a dumb habit. Besides, being a HBIC doesn't just mean sticking with her kind and grinding those unworthy under her heel, it also means she decides who she associates with, screw what everyone else thinks. If she wants to associate with someone below her station, that's her prerogative, and if any of her peers tries to mess with her, she'll turn her fury on them.
They also talk about Chuck being "ruined" just to make the Dan and Blair thing plausible, but I don't think that's the case at all. If they think Chuck isn't an evil a-hole, what show have they been watching. In the first episode, he tried to rape not one but two of his future step-sisters! I think his actions as of late are consistent with his character! And I'm not bashing Chuck, he's a tragic character. Because despite his "holding nothing sacred" as Raina put it, I think he's definitely a product of horrible circumstances. With a family like his, is it any surprise he turned out the way he did. And I don't think Blair is the right person to "save" him.
In any case, onto the actual ep, at the very least Dan and Blair are becoming friends. Blair did Dan that solid with his article, even if she did jerk him around and make him think she wasn't doing anything with it. And you can't say them sitting in their own bedrooms watching the same movie at the same time on their laptops and talking on the phone about it isn't cute and sweet. I'm kinda curious if they haven't fallen for each other already. The way Dan was looking at Chuck and Raina, its obvious he knew Blair was gonna be hurt by that. Just like Blair didn't want Serena to continue jerking Dan around a few eps ago, I don't think he wants Blair to be hurt by Chuck again.
And then when she does find out Chuck isn't playing a game with Raina, that he really does like her, and Dan tries to hold Blair's hand to comfort her, that look on her face wasn't really, "Why the hell are you touching me, freak?" it seemed more like the sudden intimacy was a little too much for her and she didn't know what the hell she was feeling, so she had to pull away.
90210- While I'm still sad that the show has turned Adrianna into this truly awful person, she still does look hot, particularly in that red dress. And I'm definitely like the turn of events with Naomi and this new nerdy Max guy.
Pretty Little Liars- Hmm, Aria looked prettier this ep. No offense to her, but she does kinda have a large forehead, so they finally put her in a hairstyle that doesn't accentuate this. So her little tiff with Hanna at the end of last ep last for all of five minutes before she forgives her and they're besties again. For the first time in a while, her whole thing with Ezra is hilarious, what with her mom starting to crush on him, and then her dad acting totally jealous. And then when Aria gets mad at her dad for being catty about her favorite teacher, her dad calls Ezra up while Aria is having a make out session with him and leaves a message on his machine asking if they could be buddy. Which totally kills the mood for the couple. HA!
Also, Paige's dad comes to school all pissed, thinking Emily got top spot on the swim team because the school was trying to be PC by giving it to the big lesbo. But, once Nia Peeples hears about this, she tells the guy off, and while she's still not on board with the Emily being gay thing, she still loves her daughter, and apologizes for making her think she didn't.
Jenna buying lacy lingerie to celebrate her step brother's case being thrown out (interesting, she did this before the girls/the audience found out Toby's a free man) is hilariously creepy. But ooh, she's pissed now, because Spencer ruined her plans by being the one to take Toby to the station to get his ankle monitor removed. Though it was also hilarious of her to think it was Emily first, and then learn it was Spencer. You know, I actually like the idea of her and Toby. And I'll admit, Hannah/Caleb is growing on me.
