clevemire informs me that the Crossed stuff I've been reading is actual the sequel and pointed me in the direction of the original series. Its no less disturbing, but its more general survival horror as opposed to the messed up family situation in Crossed: Family Values. In any case, the Crossed are definitely scarier than ordinary "zombies", not only because of what they'll end up doing to you if they catch you, but also because they retain some of their human intelligence, enough to still be able to use weapons and vehicles. Though since they be motivated solely by wrath and lust and wot-not, they're not so organized, at least they don't seem so so far. So its kinda like Dawn of the Dead meets Mad Max.
Degrassi- Wait, so Snake is principal now?! But I guess the new credits show off some of the new characters, and what the, apparently Lizzie from LWD is playing a transgender?! So anyways, season 10 starts at the end of summer, with Holly J heading back from NYC and spending one last night together with Declan. Fiona shows back up, a little more sane, and with a new boyfriend in tow. Too bad he's an abusive a-hole!
Once Holly J gets back to Degrassi she finds out that her family is having to move to a smaller place, and they've lost their savings. So she's freaked that she might not be able to go to Yale with Declan next year. Unfortunately for her, Sav's family are all, you're popular, why don't you run for Student body prez since Holly J is unopposed. So he does, which pisses her off since if she's not prez, her application will look less spectacular and her chances of getting into Yale are even less. She tries telling this to Sav, but he rightly says he also has a future to think about. So she decides to tell Sav he's gonna be a dad, and Anya's been hiding a pregnancy from him. That's messed up!
Other things in the first ep- Dave had a plan to make Alli like him by coming out with a "hot girls of Degrassi" list where its rigged for her to come in 1st. Unfortunately, Connor's code messed up and she came in 42nd, so needless to say she's pissed!
The second ep- Fiona's new bf does the whole, "Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you" acting all apologetic and then helps her out when she's introducing her re-design to the school's uniform and some old fogey is displeased that she wants to change the school crest. So all seems to be forgiven for now. Then she catches the bastard making out with some other girl! How do you cheat on a hottie like that!? Of course, he claims she came on to him, and pulls out the L word to re-assure Fiona.
Holly J enlists Anya's help in screwing over Sav, getting her to claim she's pregnant. Isn't she worried what's gonna happen when people find out the lie? Because making some guy think he knocked someone up is again, mussed up! So he decides to withdraw from the race, but doesn't tell his family why, so his family is all disappointed. Speaking of the Bhandaris, Alli gets back at Dave by posting a losers of Degrassi list, with him at #1. Finally, Dave tells her what he intended and she forgives him.
Ouch, Fiona's still unsure of Bobby, and she tries to tell her mom when his family invites the family over for dinner, but her mom is all, "Are you sure you're not finding drama where there is none?" and bring up the whole "she's kinda nuts" thing, so Fiona chickens out. But she stills feigns illness. Declan confronts her on this, and thinks she's back to her old ways and gets mad at her.
Heh, Anya starts to feel guilty when Sav also transfers out of music class to have more classes with Anya to be there for her and the baby. And even more worried when he wants to tell his parents, and wants her to be there. Though, she's also enjoying spending time with him again and wants to get back together with him. So, she's gonna stick with the plan, and fake a miscarriage. Okay, Holly J's plan was kinda bitchy, but Anya's motivations are freaking insane!
Fiona video-chats Holly J to talk. She doesn't go into specifics, but Holly J advises her, even if everyone else thinks Bobby is so great, if she doesn't want in the relationship, she should break up with him. (Its odd that she give this good advice to Fiona, and a few minutes later, she and Anya talk about continuing their insane "make Sav think he knocked Anya up" plan.)
Heh, Anya screws Holly J over by encouraging Sav to continue his campaign claiming its a good exercise in responsibility. Which seems pretty stupid given Holly J started this whole thing to get Sav out of the way, and if it no longer serves that purpose, why wouldn't she expose the truth?
Meanwhile, back at Vanderbilt prep (Oh, I forgot to mention, Declan and Fiona aren't actually at Degrassi currently, they're at a NY prep school, hence the video chatting), Bobby ends up in a huge argument with Fiona, tossing her down some stairs and creepily telling her he won't break up with her, and that no one will believe her due to the shenanigans from earlier in the summer. Kissing your brother in public and having to go to a therapist will do that for you. Still, bastard!t
So, there's some new DLC coming out for the Transformers: War for Cybertron game. 5 new characters, some interesting choices there. I mean, Shockwave and Jazz aren't too surprising, they're popular characters. Interestingly enough, they also have Demolishor, who's from TF: Armada, as opposed to the original G1 the game is based on. But yeah, the last two characters are Scattershot and Onslaught. Which is kinda odd, given a lot of people only passingly familiar with TF will be, "who?!"
Hmm, Scattershot and Onslaught are the leaders of the Technobots and Combaticons, respectively, and form the head/chest of the gestalts their teams form (Computron and Bruticus). Wonder if they'll have that as a special ability. Otherwise, they are kinda random choices for the new characters.
