Feb. 23rd, 2010 12:16 pmSaw this on Gamma Squad today, some stage production where people dress up like My Little Ponies and pretend to be doing musical numbers. In particular, "And I Am Telling You" from Dreamgirls and my favorite song from Wicked, "Defying Gravity". (I know what you're thinking, "U R so gay!") What a coincidence, Glee both did those numbers (Mercedes doing the former and Rachel/Kurt doing the latter). But really, what the hell, talk about weird!
TV commentary:
24- Goodbye Sark, we hardly knew you. So Farhad and his men betray Sark and kill him. Then Farhad's men betray him, saying they want to use the rods to build a dirty bomb. His argument to Farhad was retarded. As Farhad correctly surmised, if they did set off such a thing, the US would invade and bomb their country back to the stone age. So the guy is all, "They're already 'invading' with their peace treaty" claiming their gonna corrupt the country with western influences and how America needs to fear them. That's moronic. Sure, people will be scared, but they have a face to put to that fear, which will lead to, as Farhad said, to America rallying together and glassing their asses. Its not like the mutually assured destruction of the Cold War, where neither side would nuke the other because they'd get nuked too. But if some random sets off a single bomb, then its not like the US wouldn't do anything for fear of other bombings. Since intel knows it was hard for them to acquire the nuclear materials in the first place, they're more likely to try and stop further action by wiping his side out than acquiescing.
But ha, since Cole is off tracking down Starbuck (more on that later), the mission to rescue Farhad and get the bombs falls to incompetent rookie from the last ep. So anyways, that Weiss guy thinks the whole losing the rods is a colossal eff-up, so they need a scapegoat- Hastings can't be it, because if he looks bad, Weiss looks bad. So they decide to try and throw Walker under the bus. Jack gets all pissed and is about to leave when he hears all about what's going on, and how rookie is woefully unqualified to be heading such a mission.
So, Jack correctly surmises Hastings doesn't have faith in his man if he's actually asking for Jack's input after his derisive comments toward CTU's planning. He makes a deal that he'll get the rods if they throw out the case against Walker. But Hastings doesn't want him back for just this, Jack has to come back for good. Which he agrees to. Boy will Kim be pissed!
But heh, Jack makes some bold overtures towards Renee, and she's definitely receptive. I mean, when he called her on his way back all, "You have me, and I mean it exactly the way it sounds!", she was practically giggling like a little schoolgirl.
Anyways, finally, this stupid Starbuck secret white trash plot is over. So, Cole confronts Dana, who comes clean about really being Jenny Walsh, accessory to murder. He decides to help her out and get Kevin and the stupid dill-hole he's partnered with off Starbuck's back.
Its funny how they changed Kevin from the dick and moved that character trait over to the partner. I mean, after Cole threatens them, he tell his partner that they should quit while they're ahead, and gets a knife in the gut for it. Man, the partner is an idiot, he thinks if he kills a FEDERAL AGENT, things will be fine and Starbuck can go back to using her access to get them scores? Does he not realize after the first time, they effed up enough that she's prolly caught and will get fired/worse, and be unable to do what he wants her to do?!
And he thinks he can take down a trained anti-terrorist special agent? Well, I guess if Kevin didn't warn them, he might have, but Cole took the guy out pretty quick. But what the hell, now Starbuck feels sorry for Kevin, like running to him and cradling his body, and Kevin is all, "Oh, I'm sorry for coming in to your life and ruining it!" Is the audience supposed to care about this!? At least now they can focus on something else that's not stupid.
