clevemire directed me to this article on "Zettai Ryouiki", the "area of bare skin seen between a skirt and thigh highs". Apparently the term originates from Evangelion, though I don't recall such a thing in the series. Of course, by the end of the series (and I'm sure to offend some since so many people think its so great) it just got so weird and hard to follow that I've blocked it from my mind. All I recall about the show is that Rei and Asuka were kinda hot. And that for a show about fighting robots, there wasn't actually that much action. And the robots actually seemed ill-suited for battle compared to big ass robots from other anime.
But I digress. The article remarks how odd it is that the least amount of skin showing between the socks and skirt seems to be best. But they fail to mention as those socks get higher, that skirt gets shorter. I mean, socks are form fitting anyways. So I think its more the fact that the skirt is riding so high that is enticing to the eyes.
TV Commentary:
Criminal Intent- I'll take things that are obvious for $500 Alex. What are non-existent babies. I mean, the shots in the beginning, you never see the baby, so it became obvious that it no longer existed. Like was it any surprise that the baby was never actually at the hotel and that they were only pretending it still existed. Well, that the husband was. Its like, "No baby seen by the audience" + "Piper Perabo taking pills" + "husband overhearing about the robberies and it being a way to finally to end the ruse" = the baby has been gone for a while. And all that was before the opening credits!!
And what the hell was with the picture of the baby in front of the swings? Maybe its my inability to tell ages, but the baby in that picture looked friggin' gigantic for a year and a half old baby! Like it was obvious that that kid was way too old to be their baby!
