Is it me, or is it a guy's inclination, when he sees a chick dressed in an over-sized shirt and short shorts like Vanessa Hudgens here, to imagine she's not actually wearing anything under it?

What's with all these actresses doing self deprecating videos on Funny or Die as of late? I mean, last week had LiLo's E-Harmony Profile, now there's Denise Richard showing off her fun bags?

Is it me, or does the older "Don't Stop Believin'" promo for Glee give the show a slightly different feel to it than the the extended trailer? And is it lame that I totally would get a soundtrack to this if there were one out?

You know, it wasn't until G.I.Joe Resolute series kicked into full gear that I realized how violent it was (well, compared to the original cartoon!). And the joes aren't above dirty tricks:

Part 6 has Scarlett headshot-ing Cobras with her sniper rifle, and Duke doing a silent knife kill. Its odd that they actually differentiate the opponents they're fighting in the base as Alley-Vipers. I mean, I like the reference, though I'm curious what makes them different from ordinary Vipers in this series? Mebbe its because they're in full body armor?

Part 7 features some of the other Joes, though the voice they picked for some of them kinda weird me out. I mean, Tunnel Rat is from Brooklyn, so its fine that they're trying to do a Brooklyn accent for him, but as I said in a previous post, its like they're going for that accent but not quite getting it. While he does his thing, the two Joe Rangers, Stalker and Beach-head, along with the Joes' "big guys", Gung Ho and Roadblock (weird, I just realized they were able to use the Roadblock name rather than Heavy Duty) assault a compound being held hostage by Destro and the Baroness. Anyways, the Baroness has the kinda accent I expected, but I'm surprised they didn't make Destro a little more Scottish. Stalker's voice is totally weird though. In any case, it doesn't seem very honorable for Gung Ho to distract the Cobras, and have Roadblock (not wielding his M2, but a more realistic wieldable SAW) gun them down in the back.

Part 8 is a duel to the death between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow. Its pretty cool, but Storm Shadow's voice actor is kinda blah like someone trying to sound like an Asian guy trying to sound like Ricardo Montalban. And they almost have an Iron Fist thing going here. I mean, I like how the new Snake Eyes/Storm Shadow back story has some elements of the original, but unlike the original, Storm Shadow was actually involved with his Uncle's assassination. But yeah, the whole "seven steps of death" thing that Storm Shadow wanted to learn but his Uncle was going to teach Snake-Eyes instead? A little prosaic, very old school kung fu movie-plot.

finally got around to catch some of the episodes online... pretty good so far, its pretty much the first time the joe cartoon is more adult oriented right?

and wth with Bazooka in the very first episode?! what did he do to deserve that? I don't recall him ever being killed in the comic book series... except becoming fat and I think retiring in one of the series...

so they are pretty much changing the background of snakes and SS? It didn't seem like they served the LRRP before, but then again i only stopped at ep. 4. it just seemed like SE just showed up at their place befriending SS... They already have the names SE AND SS while they are training! And of course SS having the asian accent... I always imagined that SS had an American accent as he was born and raised in California... looks like they ignored that

and isn't tunnel rat half chinese? i like how he looks asian... he sounds like he has a brooklyn accent with a little bit of asian...

and not digging Stalkers dreadloks... as a fan of stalker, it just doesn't suit him, he always seemed so clean cut and conservative...

but I like it so far...

also in a side note, me and Dom were watching desperado and told me he watched it with you when it came out... saying you dragged him along and that when you figured out who Butcho was, you spoiled it for him in the middle of the movie gj... lol, he wanted me to tell you that...

I think while the story has similarities to the old cartoon and comics, its its own universe. So yeah, I don't think SE and SS fought in a war together, so they changed that whole back story around.

As for Tunnel Rat, he's a mix of a lot of stuff, he's supposed to be mostly Trinidadian Chinese (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_Trinidadian) with a bit of Spanish, Irish and Indian thrown in. But the Brooklyn accent is appropriate, as that's right off his filecard- he honed his fighting and hiding skills surviving the streets of Brooklyn.
