Wait, the iphone and g1 don't natively support a2dp?! That does not make cents! I heard something about possible audio sync issues when trying to watch video and listening to the sound with bluetooth headphones using a2dp as a reason for why those phones chose not to support it. But I hear more people saying its because of power consumption. (I guess because you have the bluetooth on and are using it constantly to listen to stuff, as opposed to just turning it on to make calls every so often) But shouldn't the manufacturer make it available, and leave it to the consumer as to if they want to use something that will eat up the battery life (so, just charge your phone more!)

Nowadays, the concept of a phone without at least bluetooth, a music player and a video-capable camera (even on the low-end phones) is like foreign to me. I mean, I was just looking at the crappy in case of emergency cellphones we have at work, which I assume were picked because of their cheap price, and those have bluetooth/media player/camera with video. So to me, those features should pretty much be standard now on new phones.

But I digress. On a cheap phone, I can understand the lack of such support. But for something like the iphone to not have built in a2dp support really seems nonsensical, because its basically a mating of a video ipod and a dataphone. So a portable media playing device that doesn't let you utilize the bluetooth for stereo headphones is kinda retarded! They're like way convenient! No wires to get tangled, can control the player without having to take it out of your pocket, etc. The fact that it makes it extremely easy to transition to a call is just icing on the cake.

Owel, I had a wish list written down in a previous post on what I'd like in a device before, but I'm too lazy to go back and try to find it. I'm pretty sure a lot of the high end phones nowadays do have all the stuff I had listed. Its all about carrying less stuff. While the video from the Flip Ultra isn't super high quality, its still better than camera on my SK. But if I could combine the two and throw in some of the features found on the iphone 3G/Google G1 (like wi-fi and true GPS, higher quality video media player, ability to watch videos over the web), that would be groovy. Hey, throw in the ability to play PSP type games, and it would be the awesomest handheld electronic thingie ever.

And if they made the flashlight work like it did on the sk3, I wouldn't need to carry an LED flashlight either- the sk3, turning on flashlight mode would light up the trackball, which was way bright since it was an LED. Flashlight mode on the LX though, it just lights up the screen all white, which provides decent light, but not as bright as previous. I mean, its enough to hold up to your front or car door to help you better see when fiddling with your keys, but the trackball LED light I could light up the area to see if there were any knaves hiding in the darkness with ill intent. The flashlight application though (not the built in flashlight program) does have some cool options for strobing and scrolling messages (its like the visor of a tele-viper's helmet!).

Speaking of seeing the dark though, saw different sites and magazines advertising those Eyeklops cheap night vision goggles that go for $89 (only $50 on Amazon currently). I mean, they're just toys, nowhere near as useful as true NVGs (which go for hundreds to thousands of dollars). But NVGs are cool. Like who wouldn't want a pair?
