Twas a pretty interesting weekend. Saw Scooby Doo saturday night with Krug, Chris, Tara, Jegger and his gf Allison. It was quite the comedy of errors. Chris stopped by our place, and we all went to pick up tickets at Parkway Point. On the way to Tara and [livejournal.com profile] mac_finn's place, some other driver started gesturing toward us. At first I thought it was a threat, so I was all what the hell he's staring at and how I was gonna stab him in the face with a sautering iron. But we rolled down the windows and he said we had a flat. It wasn't totally flat yet, but we were hoping to find a flat area to change it. Unfortunately, Tara's complex is all hilly. Anyways, we pick her up, and since her place wasn't too far from Chevy's, we changed the tire in the Chevy's parking lot before going to eat.

Our waiter was new, so service was a little crazy. Chris, Krug, and Tara partook of the margaritas, but I, trying to quit, did not. Jason came late as usual. After dinner, we headed to the theater. Jason somehow ended up getting lost so he came in 10 minutes late into the movie. It was suprisingly a pretty enjoyable movie. Of course, I wasn't expecting much. I was shocked to hear Chris say he enjoyed it, since this isn't his kind of movie (he went out of boredom). Of course, he's also a SMG fan, and he stated "Dude, SMG is hot" more than once during the movie. But anyhoo, it was funny. Matthew Lillard does a perfect Shaggy. And Velma's stacked!

Sunday, went to the 10am mass. Picked up lunch at Wendy's afterwards. Strangely, that scary Russian (or Eastern European) guy who came into work earlier this week was in front of me in line. So I was stuck there for five minutes as he asked "How much is classic double with tomato? Just sandwich!" in his booming voice. First, the cashier kept on saying, "Oh, a classic single? 1.99." Then the manager gets involved and he's all, you can see it on the menu. It was driving me nuts because I just wanted them to tell him since he was having trouble finding it on the menu and I was ready to shout "Its $2.99, dammit! He can't see it on the menu, that's why he's asking!" And his son was telling him it was $2.99, but he kept on asking how much it was with potato, which his son corrected as tomato. Because apparently I hear they charge extra for that thing in Europe! Talk about highway robbery! Pay extra for a damn slice of tomato? That's totally ridiculous! Anyways, apparently $2.99 is too much, as he and his son left without purchasing anything. So I got a quarter pound double stack with cheese and medium fries (thank goodness for Wendy's $.99 menu! Cheap eating!) and headed back. After finishing lunch, headed to the mall to buy some new pants for this shindig next Saturday for my gammy's 90th b-day. You know, the one [livejournal.com profile] isabel79's been babbling about.

Actually hit Oxford before the mall. I took collier to peachtree and I decided, screw it, I'll see if E. Wesley really does cut into Piedmont right before Oggsford. And it does. Picked up a comic, hit Lenox. I checked American Eagle but they didn't have anything I was looking for. So I went to Macy's and got pants as well as two Tommy shirts on sale for $12 each! Wotta deal!

Went home and Krug and I headed up to Mansell to see Windtalkers with Chris. It was a pretty cool movie. But I had been so used to seeing these "realistic" war movies, it was disconcerting to see the characters using that fancy John Woo gunplay. And those Jap dudes running around with katanas? That's some freaky stuff! But seriously, Nick Cage was the reaper. Its like this one point, he and his injun sneak into the Jap camp to steal a radio. Nick's pretending to be Yahzee's prisoner since he does kinda look like a Jap. So they do the "kick the american around and then he begs for mercy but he's really pulling out the pistol he secretly tucked in the back of Yahzee's belt" thing. So Nick pulls out the pistol and kills three Japs real quick. So he and the injun charge the camp from behind and the injun takes out one guy, and Nick takes out the other 50! He was the reaper in this flick! Its like a dozen guys charge him and he mows them all down with his Tommy gun, or he fires 5 shots from his 1911 right quick and 5 guys drop. So it was more like a John Woo flick that took place during WWII.

Ate at Hops for dinner, then went grocery shopping. Finished the night watching the 2002 MuchMusic Video awards. That Kristin Kreuk chick is totally cute. But apparently the Canadians don't have Smallville yet! And what's up with that dude from Nickelback? There were a few categories where not only was Nickelback nominated twice, he was nominated for that song he did off the Spiderman soundtrack. So its like he has three out of the four or five nominations! That's crazy!
