geebsGee, I sure am being posty as of late. During lunch watched Swingtown off the DVR, which I had recorded and not yet watched. Its somewhat interesting, but of course I'm always amused when I can say a character is "positively scandalized", as prudes are oft wont to due when confronted with swinging and drug use. But, the soundtrack kicks ass also. I was trying to figure out where I'd seen the adults, as the majority of them seemed familiar. I mean, I recognized Trina from 24 and Lost, where she was one of the chyx in the Looking Glass. Her husband, Tom, looked familiar behind the cheesy 70s mustache, but I guess its Jake of Melrose fame? Bruce was Steve on Coupling, though this whole time I didn't realize he was also Norrington in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Susan seemed somewhat familiar, and when I looked up her name, I knew the name "Molly Parker" sounded familiar. And then I remembered, "Oh yeah, she was in that movie The Center of the World with Carla Gugino!" Janet's (who wasn't familiar) husband I'd seen in a bunch of stuff, but the thing prolly sticking out in my head is the ep of SVU where ADA Cabot supposedly dies.
Heh, I think the most amusing part of the ep was when the one kid got his ass totally kicked by a girl for saying he was screwing her! HA! Man, that's totally embarrassing. But boy did she kick his ass! And then she spit on him! Double HA! And the daughter having a thing for her philosophy teacher. ccv('Inappropriate!') Yeah, its weird for professors to see their students outside of class when said student is wearing a ridiculously flimsy top!
In any case, I also thought Janet being all scandalized by everything going on the party especially hilarious, particularly when she immediately ran home and went into ultra-cleaning mode. I'm intrigued by the looks Susan and Roger keep giving each other. I guess there's an attraction there? And I think Bruce recognizes it on some level. I wonder if Susan is gonna eventually try to bring up the idea of bringing him in on the swinging. And I suppose they also made a big deal of letting the audience know that they got married because Susan got knocked up in high school, so I'm sure there's a rocky road ahead.
And I'm curious if Trina really is into open marriages as she says she is. When she was trying to sell Susan on the swinging lifestyle, all I thought was, "Who are you trying to convince, me, or yourself?!"
Saw this link off Gorilla mask about the 100 hottest current pr0n actresses (link totally NFSW, obvie) though the post only contains the top 10. At number 10 they list Bree Olsen. She is kinda hot, though she kinda creeped me out in one of her videos by pulling a Marla from Fight Club, where the guy was all "You like being a teen that effs?" And she's all "No, I don't wanna be a teen, they're too old!" WTF?!! That's totally frakked up!
The next name on the list I recognized was Eva Angelina, but I almost didn't recognize her without her glasses. Though I guess she should be recognizable by that weird heart shaped mark she always has on her breast.
Next on the list was Hillary Scott, who I've always been a fan of, but she got a really bad fake looking boob job at some point in her career. I guess they're an improvement over her old chest, but they look kinda weird.
After, you have Sasha Grey, who's work I was not at all familiar with, but I'm glad I know of her now, because she's mad cute. Rounding out the top 5 are Belladonna (really?!), Jenna Haze (I heartily approve, as I've mentioned before that she's tied with Teagan as my all time favorite actress of that genre), Jesse Jane (again, really?! She's so plastic!!), Tera Patrick, and Stormy Daniels. I've heard of the last two, but they never piqued my interest.

turdburgler lent me some shoujo. I had finished "Beauty is the Beast" the other day, but kept forgetting to comment on it. It was pretty cool. Though it ended kinda abruptly in my opinion. Like they introduce Suzu and Misao, who seemed extremely interesting, but they don't really do anything with them. I guess Eimi and Wanichin are the main characters, but still. I'm totally surprised they ended up together. I mean, I guess she was the only one who wasn't scared of him and got past that gruff exterior, but I was actually rooting for Simone. I kinda feel sorry for the guy, Eimi initially totally oblivious to his feelings, and then when they're together how her friendship with Wanichin makes him totally jealous. And near the end we even see his history of being unsuccessful with the ladies.
I figured the thing between Eimi and Wanichin was more brother/sisterly, especially when they made Eimi seem a lot like his dead sister. But again, as I said, it ended kinda abruptly. Simone was all ready to spend vacation with Eimi, but then his father gets sick so he has to cancel (poor guy, he was really looking forward to it!). So Eimi spends all this time learning about Wanichin. Then all of a sudden, its like, they're together now, and they flashforward to them having a daughter! What the?!!

Tera Patrick is kind of a complement to that, as the sultry brunette. For a while there, I would have said she was one of the absolute best-looking girls in porn, but I think her time has kinda passed.
Actually, I've gone on about this before, but the whole internet/gonzo thing has really shifted the style in general, and your classic Vivid/Wicked/etc girls are practically dinosaurs at this point. The fact that the top 3 are all these kind seems more like nostalgia than any kind of reality.
Also big props to Jenna Haze. I think she sort of bridges the gap between that classic style and the new style, and she is another girl who is not necessarily the hottest on looks alone but puts on an amazing performance.
I think it's pretty impossible to come up with a top 10. There are just too many girls at this point, and my mind changes on a whim. It's just like music now, thanks to the internet. Every band can put their music online, and I'm flooded with choices.
I would probably have to include Katsumi somewhere in my top 10. I was starting to enjoy Haley Paige and then I found out she's dead, so I guess that disqualifies her? I like Cody Lane but I feel like maybe she's too trashy to put on the top 10? Ha ha ha...

Date: 2008-06-09 05:05 pm (UTC)I wish the series had been longer so they could've tied up all the misc characters' loose ends too. And the ending did feel incredibly rushed; perhaps the popularity of the series dropped in book 4 so the publisher told the author to wrap it up or something. Too bad.
You should like "Tramps Like Us", it is quite full of lulz.
