Just saw the emotionally charged two part season finale of House today. Wow, I think that was easily one of the best (if not the best) season finales this season. A very sad and poignant ep (or rather 2 eps) of House. Basically, the first part starts with House at a strip club with a head injury with no memory of how he got there. He soon finds out he was in a horrible bus crash and he somehow ended up wandering in. Though I have to call shenanigans on that, because as soon as he leaves the place to figure things out, he sees the pretty big wreck, and no way a strip club (or any business) is gonna act like everything's normal when a bus gets T-boned and then flips over before careening to a stop in front of the place!

Anyways, he realizes he saw someone on the bus has some pressing medical condition he needs to figure out. Given he has a cracked skull, everyone wants House to rest, but his subconscious keeps on bugging him about it. He helps solve a weird issue with the bus driver near the end of the 1st hour, but he quickly realizes the weirdness was a result of the crash, and not the issue he saw before the crash. So he takes some Alzheimer's medication to jumpstart his brain to try and figure out and goes into cardiac arrest. But he figures it out- Cutthroat Bitch (I dunno, CTB is just such a cooler name than "Amber") was on the bus with him, and there's something wrong with her that he needs to fix. Heh, when they were going over the passengers, and they mentioned a Jane Doe who got sent to another Hospital, that she'd be the real case House was looking for. Pretty cool reveal that it was Amber though.

Then the second ep, they try to figure out why her heart started racing out of control after the doctors patched her up out of control. So they freeze her and put her on bypass, and everyone feels Wilson is hamstringing them because of his relationship with CTB and basically guilting House into not doing what needs to be done. He even begs House to do a dangerous procedure on himself- drilling a whole into his brain and shocking it to jump start his memory to figure out what he knew. He figures it out but slips into a coma, and we learn its all for naught because there's nothing that could be done.

CTB took some pills to fight off the flu right before the crash, and with her kidneys horribly damaged in the crash, they could not filter the drug correctly and she's basically been fatally poisoned- even dialysis won't do the trick because the drug bonds to the proteins in her blood. They end up reviving her so she and Wilson can say goodbye.

But yeah, the ep was chock full of emotion. Like Wilson being to close to the case to let them do their jobs, then begging House to do the dangerous procedure so he can figure out what he knew was wrong about Amber. And of course House is gonna do it, Wilson's his best friend, and he feels kinda guilty since they didn't have any idea why CTB was with him on the bus.

Reviving her was kinda dark though, I mean, yeah, they get to say goodbye. But its kinda messed up to wake up only to learn you're as good as dead. I think it was pretty interesting that as soon as they revived her, it only took a few minutes for CTB to figure out what was wrong with herself. And then her and Wilson's final moments? So tear-jerking! I think my favorite lines from it was when Wilson was begging for a few more minutes and Amber was all, you'll always want a few more minutes. And then being so angry and wondering why she isn't and her telling him that anger isn't the last feeling she wants to feel before she dies. And then when he goes home, he finds a note from her saying she was going to pick up House?

And then when House says goodbye to her in his dreams or limbo or wherever? Even he admits its not fair that he gets to live, and the young do-gooder hottie who was helping his drunk ass is the one that dies. And him wanting to die because his life is pain, but especially because he dreads how much Wilson will hate him over the whole thing? Wilson did end up showing up to make sure is all right, but the look he gives House, you know he's really mad about it. And House knows, so he's sad. And it is sad, because he risked his life to try and figure out what was wrong with CTB, but then again if he hadn't gotten drunk and called Wilson's phone who was on call so Amber answered instead and went to pick him up she wouldn't have been on the bus.

And if that wasn't enough, 13, who was having trouble with the situation because she's also a young doctor who might be dying. In her case, its possibly of Huntington's Disease, but she didn't know yet. So she takes the test, and then after CTB dies and we see everyone dealing with it, we find out that she's positive for Huntington's. All in all, anyone who doesn't get a little misty eyed during the finale is a frakkin' robot!
