Had dinner with the roomie at IHOP. Got the biscuits with sausage and gravy with the eggs scrambled and with cheese and a side of bacon. I guess IHOP has some Horton hears a Who (or rather a Dr. Seuss in general) promotional thing going on, One of the things they had was this "beezlebub" or "beelzebub" drink, which is basically "lemon lime" soda (which I assume is just Sprite) with chunks of berry blue and strawberry jello in it. I didn't get it, but I was surprised if one did get it, one got free refills. I mean, it must be a pain in the ass to cut up those chunks of jello and throw them in there. I guess they prolly just cut it into chunks beforehand and toss them in when someone wants one. Anyways, chose IHOP for dinner so I could hit Best Buy beforehand and grab Enchanted.
Tuesday night TV commentary:
Seriously, what's up with the gang, particularly Skills this ep? I mean, tailgating the wedding, kinda rude, and I know they've been friends with Peyton longer, but I think its kinda tasteless to talk about the ways they could break up the wedding.
And thank goodness the Peyton outburst was just in her head, as I've said before, one of my biggest pet peeves is people breaking up a couple the day of their wedding! Its like, couldn't they pick a less awkward time to figure all this out?! Owel, I guess the way things played out were acceptable- Lindsey realized Lucas was still in love with Peyton from his new manuscript, even if he doesn't realize it, so she walks away.
Actually, is it fortuitous that things happened the way they did, otherwise it might've taken them longer to figure out Jamie was missing. But really, what are the chances of two psychos showing up at the wedding, highlighted by the ultra creepy music and talking and laughing nefariously to themsleves.
Also hilarious, Brooke wanting to have a baby and talking about spending the last four years working. She's frickin' 22! But she's acting like she's worried it might be too late for her! They fast forwarded four years, not 15!
Ah, and so Karen hooked up with Andy (and what happened to Deb?)? But what a weird and awkward joke he made to Lucas, all "You better hope your fiancee doesn't meet me?" So he's joking about stealing the fiancee away from his SO's son?!
Only got to watch the first half of Jericho before going into work:
Beck may have been playing things a little heavy handed, but the Rangers aren't exactly in the right. And how convenient that Beck doesn't think Hawkins was involved, even though they were able to get everything out of Russell. I guess he coulda just said Jake and the Rangers, and not mentioned specifics. Actually, is Hawkins a Ranger? And I guess even if he was, Beck might not realize it and just think he's a feeb as Hawkins has claimed to be.
Anyways, while Beck may haven't been exactly subtle dealing with the situation (throwing a hood over a popular guy like Jake in full view of the public and then making it clear he was torturing Jake to figure out where Stanley is isn't too smart), how retarded was it for them to take the convoy?! I mean, declaring them insurgents isn't too far from the truth! Jake's intentions were good, but the fact of the matter is, he was trying to get Stanley off scot free! Yeah, Goetz was a bad guy who murdered his sister. But Stanley didn't kill him in self defense, or even in a gunfight. They had captured Goetz already and Stanley executed him!
Jake should have worked on getting Stanley a fair trial rather then sacrifice himself to continue hiding Stanley. Stanley shouldn't get off scot free, no matter how nice a guy he is and how hard a life he had. He murdered a man in cold blood, even if it was an evil man, there are laws! Goetz was in custody, and he had been fired from J&R, so its not like he was likely to escape punishment!
And then spitting when Beck wanted him to sign that document saying he doesn't condone the actions of the Rangers. Yeah, a signed document from someone being held in custody in an uncomfortable place and deprived of food and water is kinda hincky, Beck should've gone to Jake and explained how retarded his men were being and telling him killing an embezzler who murdered a loved one is one thing, but hitting a GOVERNMENT CONVOY AND HOLDING IT HOSTAGE is another. Beck could prolly work things out with the Stanley thing. But he's a soldier, he can't overlook the army getting hit like that. Jake had to realize that what they did was extremely dumb and should try to diffuse the station rather than being stubborn.
And I totally forgot the Green Boys grampa was the Big Lebowski. Heh, and realizing Hawkins is English and just faking the accent, and then
clevemire saying "that's why he sounds funny", I couldn't help thinking of that Family Guy skit where they talk about Liam Neeson trying to portray an American cowboy. (Its many miles away, and who knows how many fathoms!)
