Never really been but I'd sure like to go
Mar. 12th, 2008 09:52 amTuesday night TV commentary:
Tonight's ep was a bit of action and suspense. Apparently Heather has a bounty on her because she's feeding Beck info that's helping him crush the New Bernies? But that one guy introduced in the flea market ep went to Jericho under orders to collect the bounty, but asked her politely to stop feeding Beck info (does he not realize she lurves Beck!?) and that he's going after Goetz instead? Who was indeed able to get the ledger. Though I'm kinda skeptical that he found the ledger, but had no idea Mimi was in the house bleeding to death! Its not like she was in a hidden room!
Ah, convenient that Darcy was in the hospital when they brought Mimi in. I was wondering how they'd get Hawkins involved- wasn't 100% sure he'd help out just because Jake asked him to. But the Ravenwoodies made the mistake of subtly threatening him and his wife, earning one of the guys a neck snap. I have an issue what the situation though, as far as I could tell in the end, the Ravenwoodies siding with Goetz were mostly white, with one Asian guy, I think. And there were supposedly only 12 of them, and it wasn't that dark outside the hospital. So I'm not sure Hawkins disguising himself as one of them would've actually worked. Wouldn't they be all, when did we have a black guy on our team?!
I did like the double bluff though. Tricking the traitor, and then fooling Ravenwood that they exited through a hole they knocked out in the wall, but hiding in the hospital all along and just walking out after Ravenwood leaves? Pretty clever. Ravenwood kinda sucks. I mean, not only did they have Jake and the Rangers (is Emily a member, she seems to run with them pretty often, and she seems pretty competent in terms of field skills/shooting at least) following them, but the New Bernies also. Though I'm skeptical Jake and Co didn't realize the New Bernies were also out there.
In the end, Stanley kills Goetz. I know Jake and Co were arguing with the New Bernies over who should get Goetz, but what did they think was going to happen when Stanley suddenly drove up there and started strolling towards Goetz?! And why does Goetz dying put New Bern AND Jericho in Beck's sights? As Trish and the Ravenwood regional commander can attest, they left Goetz and his men out there. And with Goetz being strung up at New Bern (guess they don't really care if Beck's pissed off at them), wouldn't Beck just assume the New Bernies ambushed him out there when he was all alone and without anything more than pistols?
I mean, even if Beck found out about the hospital incident and Goetz killing Bonnie, they could say they were just protecting Mimi, and to avoid bloodshed, they finally decided to hide and get Trish to show the Ravenwood commander that Goetz was embezzling money, but before they could safely go to arrest Goetz after he got fired by Ravenwood, the new Bernies got him.
And I know Bonnie was deaf and all, and Stanley was prolly used to communicating with her with sign language, but it just seems weird he'd be signing to her even after she was dead. Its not like her spirit is deaf!
