marry him, your father will condone you
Dec. 20th, 2007 08:23 amLooking over the rules for that silly How Many 5 year olds can you take in a fight quiz, I stand by my previous statement that I can take on more than 23. I didn't see the caveat that you'd have to fight them all at once initially, but even with that, I still think I could take on more. The rules are such:
* You are in an enclosed area roughly the size of a basketball court
* There are no weapons or foreign objects
* Everyone is wearing a cup (so no kicks to the groin)
* The children are merciless and will show no fear
* If a child is knocked unconscious, he is "out." The same goes for you.
The whole not having to worry about getting kicked in the groin is a big advantage I think. I mean, how else is a five year old going to reasonably stop you before you knock their ass out, particularly since there are no weapons or foreign objects either? I guess that's where the swarming comes in, but I think reasonably, only eight to ten of them could get to you at once. But as soon as you knock one out, they'll be replaced, so at that point I think its just a stamina thing. I know, I'm spending too much time analyzing a macabre and off color subject. I mean, I wouldn't really beat up a group of 5 year olds. Unless they were like evil zombies trying to kill me. Or freaky children of the corn types.
Owel, finished up the last ep of Journeyman this morning. I'll admit, I thought it was only okay when I first started watching it, but it grew on me. I think the last few eps have been really good, just the right amount of mystery about the whole deal to dangle in front of you. Then again, it seemed the writing was on the wall regarding their future, even before the strike, so mebbe that allowed them to pace the reveals and take it to a conclusion, of sorts.
So when the Prof asked Dan who the other traveler was, did he not know about Liv? Or was he doing the whole, "Good, you're not saying the answer" thing? I did hear an interesting theory on the boards. Given there's someone pulling the strings and someone watching, they switched to people moving forward, like Liv, as those would be harder to discover.
The ep was interesting though, particularly when the other traveler talked about how easy it was to change history so his wife never met him to prevent her death. That's what always freaked me out about time travel, if it was possible, I think it would be too easy to change things in drastic ways, even if you don't mean to. I mean, look at the previous ep. He jumps technology ahead by leaving the camera back in the past, but his family life was more or less the same, save he head a daughter instead of a son because he ended up screwing his wife on a different day! I mean, just delaying a person a minute or two by taking their place in a check out line could be just enough time to prevent a chance encounter (for good or bad) that would take their life down a totally different path.
