Urath? What the hell is Urath?
Dec. 14th, 2007 08:55 amIts lucky for Junior's that they're an institution on this campus and have good food. So I'm there for breakfast, and there must be twenty people (not an exaggeration, I counted!0 in line. And as usual during breakfast, there's only three people working. And like a couple of people get tired of waiting and go to leave, and the Junior's guy is all, "Aww, don't go!" and is real nice about it when they decide to leave. But what does he expect? They were like five behind me, and there were still like three people in front of me! Hire more people then! A lot of the slowness comes from the fact that sometimes the old lady at the register has to stop to like change the filter on the coffee maker, and the guy taking the orders has to stop to hand the fifteen previous customers their orders and the other fifteen who haven't ordered yet have to wait even longer! Hey, I like the place, and the people there are nice, but its like frickin' amateur hour over there, even though they've been around for decades!
Almost done with the first Invincible hardcover. Heh, when
clevemire let me borrow it, he only gave me the first one because he wasn't sure I'd like it. Really though? I mean, even on its own, its a solid, funny superhero comic. I'm not a fan of Invincible's powerset because its so prosaic, but he's still an interesting character. But 1) its chock full of pop culture references. And you know how I like those, so I can feel all superior because I recognize them. And 2) The main character is a teen still in high school, so it has some of that teen drama BS that I love, particularly between Invincible and Atom Eve.
