Sunday morning, started having some abdominal cramps. Still, went over to
zarathrustra94 and
turdburgler's for geek fun. Toughed out the pain, but figured I needed to see the doc on Monday. Looking up symptoms online, I suspected diverticulitis. The pain was on the left side, so it wasn't appendicitis, and I didn't feel anything that would make me think it was a hernia. Sure enough, it was indeed diverticulitis. Looks like they caught it early and I just need some antibiotics.
Still, Monday was miserable because my condition didn't give me much of an appetite, so I only had like a couple of crackers for breakfast. And the previous day didn't have much to eat, half a burrito at Qdoba for lunch, and only a bowl of the roomie's homemade stew for dinner. They were able to squeeze me in right before lunch, but then I was off doing x-rays and blood work and cat-scans. I go to KP's Cumberland facility, but I had to drive over to Glenlake for the cat scan. Luckily, I was done and got out of the area before that rush hour traffic on 400/285 got awful.
Had to stop at Publix and get a bunch of soup and jello, because the doctor wanted me on a liquid diet. So I was hungry and had a splitting headache, but I couldn't eat just yet because my stomach was unsettled from the barium I had to drink for the cat scan. But by the time Wheel of Fortune rolled around, got some food in me finally, took some of the antibiotics and I'm feeling much better. Had to go in today for the results of the cat scan, and as I said, they caught it early so the scans showed nothing formed that would require surgery. And the doctor says I could prolly get on solid foods now that the pain has subsided. I'll prolly give it another couple of days, just to be safe. Owel, as long as I can eat solid food by next week (Thanksgiving!) I'm happy.
Monday night TV commentary:
Weird, last night's Chuck had both Summer Roberts and Marshall Flinkman! Anyways, an interesting development, Chuck "breaking up" with Sarah. So since she's trained to resist the effects of truth serum, she was lying when she said they're going nowhere? But weren't there times where she accidentally slipped up and told the truth, meaning she was under the effects of it? I guess the only example I can think of is when she called Casey her partner, which I guess is more of a slip up, and I don't recall any other time she was asked something point blank like that. But I guess she's all jealous now that Chuck is going out with Summer. I mean, Lou? Oh, and they shipped Harry Tang off to Hawaii? Ha!
So on Heroes, we learn what happened four months ago. We find out that Maya accidentally slaughtered an entire wedding party because she caught her brother's new wife fracking her ex. She runs off to be a nun, Alejandro finds her and tries to turn her in, but this time, he learns he has the power to nullify hers and is able to stop her from killing more people. Not sure why we needed to see all that, its not nothing we didn't know already or anything we really wanted to know.
As for the Hawkins family, their storyline is just some huge wank where you thought Hawkins died at Kirby plaza, but he survived and became a firefighter. Anyways, soon after the Kirby plaza incident, Bob comes up to Niki with the initial offer, but she refuses to go to the Company's facility. She does acquiesce to a drug program to control her mental problems. Unfortunately, she goes off her meds, becomes a new personality named Gina and runs off to LA. DL tracks her down, tells the drug dealer "Gina" was seeing to frack off. He shows Gina a pic of their happy family, and it snaps her out of it, and they're all happy. But then drug dealer shoots DL in cold blood. Sad!
We also learn the fate of the Petrellis after Kirby plaza. As I've been saying all along, Nate dropped Peter before he got blowed up along with his brother. He did suffer severe radiation burns though. Peter blows up, heals and flies Nathan to the hospital. Alas, the company captures Petey soon afterwards, so no one knows Peter survived. Anyways, Bob offers to help Peter, while Elle acts all creepy and looking at him as a shiny new toy. Apparently, she's a sociopathic sadist. Yet still kinda hot! Peter believes the whole "you're too dangerous" line, so he agrees to be "treated" at their "treatment facility". There he meets Adam, who opens his eyes to the fact that he's really in a prison.
On the outside, Angela convinces Heidi to leave Nate, claiming "mental disease" in the family. Whether she used a power to do this or not, we're not sure. Anyways, Peter and Adam break out, and Adam gives Nate a transfusion to heal up Nate. They get jumped by Elle and the Haitian as they leave. Elle goes after Adam, while the Haitian goes after Peter. Since the Haitian can nullify Peter's power, he kicks Peter's ass. Which has me wondering if Peter has the Haitians power, or if its impossible for him to suck the Haitian's power since his power to absorb will always be off in the presence of the Haitian? Anyways, he corners Peter in the cargo container he was found in in the beginning of the season. He tells Peter he's not gonna bring him back and instead is just going to erase Peter's memory to give him a chance at a new life. He also gives Peter his symbol necklace, which explains why Peter has it now. I'm not sure if the Haitian's plan was too wise. I mean, even if Peter doesn't remember he has powers, he might accidentally use them and cause an incredible disaster, particularly with Ted's radioactive powers. But whatever. Now we know what happened, I guess.
