Oct. 20th, 2007 08:29 pmJust got back from seeing Gone Baby Gone with the roomie. I liked it, its one of those thinking movies. I'm not sure what I'd do in that situation. Afterwards, picked up C-note and we ate at that Mexican restaurant over in that new Howell Mill Plaza area for dinner. I'd never been there, so its interesting to see how the area has changed since I last lived there.
Anyways, some TV commentary:
Geez, on Smallville, they really are rehashing scripts. Since they've milked the whole Clark/Lana keeping things secret to protect the other business for the past six or seven years, now they're doing it with Chloe and Jimmy?
Heh, I also like how open ended they left the Dean Cain character thing. Martian Manhunter is all, "Yeah, I took him somewhere. I used to do this for your pops all the time, and he never asked." Well, okay then. They didn't even explain Dean Cain's character. So he's just some immortal guy? Is he gonna be a recurring villain this season?
Some interesting developments on FNL. So are Tyra and Landry a full on couple now? I'm amused by his dad seeing Tyra sneaking out of his room and not saying anything. I guess he's proud now that his son's on the football team and sleeping with a hottie like Tyra? Despite her amazonianess, I still find her pretty cute, particularly with that new hairstyle.
Speaking of people getting it on, so Tim's brother is doing neighbor lady now? Heh. So Tim's all backsliding, and goes to Lyla's church thing. Again, I must say, protestants are weird! Hilariously, he tries to get into Lyla's pants by saying he found god. She's no idiot, so she kicks him out.
Oh, he also passed out during practice from heat exhaustion. Well, it was more due to being hung over, but Buddy wants to use this as ammo to get the new coach fired and bring back Eric. After seeing what a sorry state Dillon is in, he's thinking of heading back. Especially after college coaching continues to make him more and more sick at the state of it all.
So what's wrong? Smash and Matt have a blow up on the field, because new Coach is all about Smash, and Smash is milking it. Well, Smash does say its his year, and he needs to get out there to get recruited, but he's still a cocky prick about it. Of course, Matt's been keeping it in so much, he was bound to flip out and punch someone sooner or later. And Smash, having won the game by playing a play that leaves Matt out of it, was the final straw. Seriously, what was with Matt anyways? Julie the slut dumps him for some older guy, and he's apologizing to her parents? Get a backbone, man! I don't think he's gonna be screwing nurse lady any time soon though. I was thinking they might be going for it, but I think the thing in the end where she holds him and sings him a little lullaby was a little more motherly. After all, Matt's motherless (did they ever say what happened to his mom?), so she might fill that void. Or it could be both feelings happen, and he'll feel very awkward because on the one hand, she's like this mother figure, but on the other, she's attractive and he wants to screw her.
Getting back to Julie though, Tami slaps the taste out of her mouth for being a petulant bitch. And again, I'm still confused why her new guy is called the Swede. Anyways, he knows she's like 16 or something, right? Isn't he embarrassed? I mean, shouldn't he be a little more worried about making out in front of her house?
Owel, in the end, Jason joins Tim in getting sauced after new coach doesn't take his advice and goes as far as to call him mascot. So they decide to drive to Mexico to get the experimental surgery. WTF?! Hopefully, they'll realize the folly of their ways on this road trip.
