Hmm, today has just been a gloomy day so far. I dunno, I guess its because its a Monday morning and it was still dark coming in, and nothing has happened yet today that can be construed as good or nice. Now, I'm not saying a bunch of bad things have been happening, just that nothing has been happening at all, and certainly not anything to get excited or happy about. I must be noticeable though, because one co-worker said I looked "tired", and another told me to "cheer up". (See, I don't have a stupid grin plastered on my face 24/7!) The day's just been bleh so far.

I never commented about this past FNL: Is it me, or has every recap site made a joke about the episode title and the Tyra/Landry kill someone storyline? In any case, I think they're acting a little too normal for two people who killed a guy and covered it up! I think there should be a little more insanity, a little more paranoia. But there were times where they were talking as if things were normal! Anyways, the longer the cover up goes on, the less believable it will be. Or at the very least, the less sympathetic the characters will be.

I remember there was that interview where they try to compare it to the tragedy of Jason getting crippled, but its a totally different situation. I guess you could say both acts are crazy, life changing events, that only took a few seconds to occur, but the effects are life long. In that case though, I think it only works if the body is found and the investigation starts up and Landry and Tyra are fingered pretty quickly. I don't think people will like to watch/support characters who spend the rest of their lives keeping a murder covered up. But they might watch Landry and Tyra dealing with the aftermath of doing something as stupid as covering up a killing and the law catching them on it.

Of course, mebbe its too late, but it will seem a little hokey if there's no jail time or other sort of punishment involved. Because I think people will be disgusted if they also get off scot-free. Even if they have crippling guilt, there should be other consequences for doing something so stupid!

Anyways, despite the craziness of the storyline, there are some good points. I did like Landry laying it all on the line, telling Tyra how she knows he's in love with her, and using that fact, and calling her on how she possibly has an effed up view of what a man should be. Of course, despite his convictions, it doesn't stop him from sleeping with her when she throws herself at him in the end. [livejournal.com profile] clevemire, so are you quitting now that Tyra and Landry have done the deed? Or was you issue with them becoming an actual couple, and this is just effed up sex?

In other news, Coach is quickly wondering why he left Dillon to become a gopher, babysitting a-hole jockos and getting no respect, when his family and friends are falling apart without him. Well, its not necessarily without him in all cases, but there are a lot of people who could use him.

What's wrong with Dillon? Buddy's continuing his downslide, particularly after he doesn't get to host the first party this year. So he turns into a slobbering drunk, embarrassing Lyla. Much to her chagrin, Tim's helping her out, because apparently we're revisiting that situation again. Of course, I'm talking like I hate it, but you're all thinking, "Please, isn't that exactly the kind of couple you like watching?" The whole being opposites and fighting a lot because they're really hot for each other sort of thing? And you would be right.

Jason is excited about getting some hand movement, but his Doctor is all, don't think you'll walk again, so he gets all depresso (but not before telling Tami he had a dream where she made him walk) and Herc tells him about those experimental Mexican surgeries. Hopefully, he doesn't actually go for this, because that's on par with the whole Tyra and Landry kill a guy thing.

Matt's grandma is even more bonkers, but he gets a live in hispanic nurse who wants to make radical changes to his living situation for the sake of grams' health. Hey, she's played by Anna from OTH. Wasn't she playing a high schooler just a couple of years earlier? Now she's a sassy nurse who embarrassed Matt by finding his pr0n stash?

Even worse, Julie dumps him! I guess she's still freaking out about them turning into her parents, particularly since her mom has gone all nutso and is leaning on the dude filling her position at school to help her with everything, You know, since her actual husband is too busy having to try to get unrepentant cocky pricks the least amount of suspension time for accepting gifts from boosters. Oh, and she puts the move on the Swede. (Why is he called that? He's doesn't look or sound Swedish!) And the pervo doesn't resist! Doesn't he have a girlfriend? I'm assuming he's 22-24 at the very least, and he's thinking of scamming on a HS junior? Pervert!

Owel, I'm curious how long they'll go with the falling apart before Coach comes back and everything comes back together?

That wasn't Herc, btw... or at least it wasn't the same actor, it was the guy from Murderball (Herc's busy with Bionic Woman). But no, I'm not quitting. I think the Tyra/Landry story is total BS, but the Taylors' story is still good. Where's Smash though? He was just standing there at the Dairy Queen or wherever it is they work while Saracen was leaving his desperate message for Julie, and there's no way he wouldn't have had a comment for that.
