Dang, went to Junior's for a grilled cheese w/bacon, and forgot to put spices on my fries!

Had dinner last night at Fuddrucker's, getting their new cracked peppercorn burger- I saw it had a special horseradish sauce, so I had to get it. Of course, I still think Max and Erma's has the best horseradish burger. Anyways, I was talking with [livejournal.com profile] clevemire about my poll the other day, and I mentioned my skepticism at people not having heard of go-bots. I mean, I figured they'd be known because they're the poor man's transformers. Then he mentioned how he prolly couldn't even name a go-bot (he asked me if I could. But of course! I can name more than the following, but I'll stick with the six main characters of the cartoon- Leader-1, Turbo, Scooter, Cy-Kill, Crusher, and Cop-tor) and I realized why I can remember all this crap from when I was a kid.

Because I used to make lists! Seriously, I had like a trapper keeper full of lists of various things when I was a kid- rosters, weapons, and vehicles from various toylines and video games, cars, military vehicles and weapons, fighting styles of the world, favorite actresses/models, etc. I didn't have a lot of the toys, but I'd go to the mall and toys r us and browse the action toy section and memorize the figures and vehicles to put in my big book of lists when I got back home. Or at the bookstore and magazine stands- new model of car or gun out? Put in on the appropriate list! I used to love going to the auto shows and then listing all the new cars that were going to come out. And this was before the days of the internet, too! Heh, like if I saw some hot actress in a movie or TV show, I had to wait until the frickin' end credits just to figure out who she was! So its not like I just remembered this stuff, I guess by writing it all down I was making some sort of effort to know it, much like Mike Seaver did when he was trying to cheat on his history test by writing the answers down on his shoes. By doing that, he actually learned the material and didn't have to cheat.

On the topic of lists, here's one I'd like your take on:

I can think of one that should be somewhere in the mix, but I'll leave it to your capable hands before I comment.

I wanna say that's an old article, because I remember seeing a list with Emily Mortimer as "Dakota Parker", and she's obscure enough to make me think she wouldn't be on two such lists. But Jennifer Garner, Jolie, Charlize, Lucy Liu, those are all obvious choices. And Nikita is always gonna be on this list. Though I don't think of Mystique as an assassin.

But who's missing? Portman as Mathilda? Zhang Ziyi as Hu Li from Rush Hour 2? Milla as Violet from Ultraviolet? Those are all assassin characters for those actresses at least. Me, I'd put Jessica Biel as Abigail Whistler from Blade: Trinity, Dushku as Faith from BtVS, Amy Acker as Kelly Peyton from Alias, Summer Glau as River Tam on Serenity/Firefly, and Alba as Max on Dark Angel, but I think Acker's character is the only one who could be considered an assassin on that list. Well, I guess Faith did assassin like things when she turned evil, and River and Max were genetically engineered to be government assassins.

I was thinking of Mia Kirschner from 24 and Bridget Fonda from the American remake of La Femme Nikita.

Argh, how could I forget about Mandy?!! She'd definitely be on my list, as not only is she an assassin, but a hottie bi-sexual one! And for some reason, the original La Femme Nikita being on that list made me forget about Point of No Return, even though I find Bridget Fonda hotter than both the film and tv show versions of Nikita. Bit of trivia connecting it all- 24 is produced by the same folks who did the La Femme Nikita TV show.
