May. 8th, 2007 04:42 amThings I hate, waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get back to sleep. So I watched the latest Donnelly's online. That Fidelity Investments commercials with the two ladies who talk about how one planned her wedding for two years and the other says two days, and ironically they both got divorced? Are they like lesbians or something, they kinds seem like it. So did they both get divorced because they found each other and left their husbands?
Anywhose, Monday night TV commentary, part deux:
So we start the ep with Jenny, so lets start with her storyline first. So the cop guy from the pilot says they found a body. Turns out its her husband Teach. Woah, his name is Teach, and he became a teacher, what are the chances? Seriously, I assume that's just his nickname? Anyways, we learn that she had continued to pursue Tommy, even after the fateful kiss when Tommy said he would talk to her for Jimmy, and apparently at this point he was willing to go for it. Too bad her dad told her to stay away, because he thinks Tommy's dad was a scumbag, so Tommy must be one to. Mr. Riley threatens to make Jenny hate him by telling him all the bad things his dad did unless he gives up. Tommy acquieses for a while, but then changes his mind and tells Mr. Riley he's gonna fight for her. Only when he goes to see her, she's already flirting with another guy, so that ship has sailed. Coincidentally, Jimmy won the Firecracker in a poker game that same night.
Sean is relegated to a subplot where he finally wants to get his GED (because of jukebox girl). Janeway's all happy of his pursuit of higher education until he finds he and jukebox girl studying. Studying in the real sense that is. Janeway is bitchy though and acts like they were studying... with sexy results! Anyways, jukebox girl kisses her ass and is all, "Oh, the last thing I want to do is get between you and your son" and plays the goody goody card, so Janeway relents and invites her to dinner.
Jimmy's still a mouthy idiot. He goes to Dokey and says they want more thann 70% of their own neighborhood. So Dokey tells him, he'll think about it, if he makes a drop. Its a trap of course. They don't kill him, but they do get him so plastered that they get him to shave his head then strip him and cover him with motor oil before dumping him back at the firecracker. Jimmy tries to play it off, but its obvious he's hurt. He thought he was "going places" hence him telling Joanie to stop acting like a crack whore. She cleans him up, and apparently they actually do love each other a lot? Tommy is of course pissd at what Dokey did to his brother, so that's one against Dokey.
Nick is still scheming how he can kill Aldo before Aldo whacks him. Tommy gives him a hand-wrapped gift that will help him greatly. What is it? The crooked engineer who the Eye-Ties, the Micks, and apparently third partner is City Hall is apparently the heart of this whole scheme. So Tommy captures him. His intention is at first to get him to reverse the condemnation of Riley's diner. During their "persuasion" of engineer guy, its becoming clear that Kevin is becoming quite the sociopath. Anyways, they get it done the reversal done in a day, which includes disguising themselves as valets to steal a Bimmer for one of the inspectors (though it seems useless unless the engineer has some way of "cleaning it up" so the cops don't go after him for possessing a stolen car! He is crooked, so maybe he does). Kevin wants to kill the guy, but Engineer guy thinks he managed to convince the level headed Tommy to not kill him, as that would be very bad for them. As said earlier, Tommy instead hands him over to Nicky in exchange for who killed his father's killer. So that's another strike against Dokey.
Anyways, he's pissed about this, and the next morning, when Dokey's guys drop off the messed up Jimmy, its the last straw. Tommy, Kevin, and Joey Ice Cream go to the bar Dokey frequents with guns. Joey and Kevin hold the rest of the bar off while Tommy proceeds to kick the crap out of Dokey. He's about to shoot Dokey but then chickens out after having a flashback to when he told Riley he's not like his father. We end with both Kevin and Dokey saying they should've killed him. According to the front page, the next ep should be the last, so I'm guessing it will be about dealing with having Dokey after them? That was a pretty dumb plan for Tommy! Its like something Jimmy would've done. I mean, even if he didn't pussy out and ended up killing Dokey, all his men were there, like there wouldn't be swift retribution?!
On 24, the prez sends Lisa back to Dr. Jackson for some counter-intel work- tell him that the crisis was averted and then leave the room to have him hack into her PDA and find documents saying they captured a chinese agent trying to smuggle the circuit board across the border. Dr. Jackson is feeling particularly amorous, so Lisa is unable to "let him sneak a peek at her PDA", so Fish spends the ep having to watch her and Jackson frak!
Keifer's still in holding, all sad that Secretary (is he still Secretary of Defense?) Heller being all, "Stay away from my daughter!" Marilyn (geez, Rena Sofer's pulling double duty tonight, being on both Heroes and 24 tonight!) is told be Chloe the whole deal. She tries to act all sad, but you know she's cheering a little inside. With her husband dead, she can make a play for Jack again. Hence her being all "I'll be here for you if you need a shoulder to cry on about Audrey". She also said she wanted to bring her son by later to meet him. I'm still confident he's actually Jack's son, and she wants to finally reveal it.
Anyways, Keifer wanted to go with the tac team to the location Audrey mentioned, but Nadia's not having it. Looks like she has a little more gumption than her predecessors, who are usually, "Well, okay Jack, even though you broke so many laws, all is forgiven!" Heh, the CTU guards must hate him, given how many of them he's beat up. Its hilarious when he's all wild eyed when Nadia turned him down, you know they're thinking, "Oh great, this asshole's gonna knock and/or choke us out!" But cooler heads prevail and Jack plays nice.
Doyle heads off with tactical, and Nadia's all "be safe", making Milo all jealous. So are they trying to make a triangle? Apparently not giving upcoming events a little later, but I'll get to that soon. Doyle doesn't find Cheng, but he finds a shitload of crates that contained automatic weapons, grenades, and C-4. Their target is of course CTU. But CTU doesn't know that. Cheng's hacker hacks into CTU (using a code we find later was provided by Jack's dad) and paralyzes their security system and cuts off comm. The Chinese hit team manages to secure CTU. They ask who's in charge, and Milo protects Nadia by claiming he is. And promptly gets shot in the head! Guess they're not gonna be a couple. But will this push her to Doyle?
Anyways, Jack manages to escape and rescue Marilyn and her son (heh, now I can't help thinking about all the silly things Oscar would say on Arrested Development trying to hint he was Buster's real dad). He plays Die Hard for a while, and manages to get the kid in the ventilation systems before he and Marilyn are captured. Alas, the kid is their main target, payment for Papa Bauer fixing the circuit board for the Chinese. So, after they threaten his mom, the kid turns himself in. Doyle and his team are still unaware of what happened. He made a call, and head Chinese attack team guy threatens to kill everyone if Nadia doesn't tell Doyle everything is okay. I know he said he'd kill them if she tried to secretly warn him, but don't they have duress codes for sitches like this? Though they did not show Doyle's team after the call, and it looked like he was kinda suspicious, so mebbe he'll roll on in next ep.
