geebs | (no subject)

Saw the 1201 showing of Attack of the Clones last night. Headed over with w00ter to Krug's right after I finished watching the DC finale. Bill and Krug's HS friend Gary were already there, and we headed off to Don Pablo's. Met Chris there, and eventually Jason, Tara, and Wallace and his gf (ack, I can't remember her name, K-something? Kristina?) showed up. We killed time there and then went to the theater at 1030. And ended up being on line (meeting Ben and Grant on the way) and not getting in until 1210. It sucked because I had to go to the bathroom real bad. So anyways, we get to the door and close it in our faces, saying they needed to open up some new theaters. So Tara goes up to the guy and asks to use the bathroom, and they let her through, I tried to follow her, but the guy wouldn't let me. He totally let her go through only because she was a girl. Which was total BS. So I ranted on outside, cursing up a storm and talking about how I was gonna stick a knife in his throat and telling the guys that afterwards we're going to wait outside and jump his ass. Of course, I wouldn't really do that, I was just trying to be "crazy pissed off" guy because not only did I have to use the loo, I was dying of ennui.

They finally let us in at around 1210, but it was good because we were the first into the new theater so we got choice seats. I had this mad cute hottie sitting in front of me, she had that same cute hairstyle jennie the waitress had (I almost thought it was her, for a sec) and Holli had at the B&S concert. You know, hair pulled back into two mini-pigtails? Nice. There was also a teaser trailer for the next two Matrix movies. The scenes look pretty bad-ass. I can't wait to see them next year.

Anyways, I'd review AoTC, but would you expect anything other than "It was cool."? I'm easily placated, so I liked it, especially all the action scenes. But everyone cringed at the Anakin/Amidala scenes. I thought Natalie Portman was supposed to be this great actress? And what's up with Hayden Christiansen? I guess he pulled off "creepy" and "enraged" pretty well, but anything else he tried? Ugh. Those scenes were poorly done. They could've done away with them. Which is saying something when I'm saying "they should get rid of the sappy teen romance"? It was no "A Walk To Remember". Ha! And I've said it in previous entries, but Yoda is a total bad-ass. Normally, I despise creatures who deviate from the human norm (yes, I'm a species-ist.) I mean, I wasn't all that impressed with Yoda in the previous movies. But mebbe that's because he came off as wise old man with powerful magicks. I didn't realize he actually was a bad-ass in physical combat.

And mebbe its because peeps say i have fascist tendencies, but the plot made total sense to me.

Now onto Felicity. That Ben was being pretty arrogant, but I'll admit I was laughing hysterically at his gall and cockiness. And how akward was that with Julie and Sean? It was kinda stupid of him to dump Meghan like that for what even he later admitted was a fantasy. But it was painful to watch him with that whole "heart ripped out of chest but trying to play it off" attitude after Julie told him that she was totally not interested. And what's with the previews for next week revealing that Noel is going to die? Okay, I already knew that but still. And I still haven't been able to find info on the end. I'm really curious to see how this is going to end.
