geebsSo wait, in Fergie's "Glamorous" video, is she implying that she was just like some normal girl back in '94, hanging out with her friends and going to backyard cookouts? Wasn't she all white and in Wild Orchid at the time? And before that, on Kids Incorporated? Her video makes it sound like she's only now getting a taste of fame. I mean, obviously, she's more famous now then she was, but its not like she was some nobody.
Is it supposed to be in the 80s this time of year? It seems warmer than usual. While I do prefer warmer temps over colder ones, short sleeved weather is actually kinda annoying at work. I mean, since the machine rooms need to be kept cold, its a tad too cool to just be in a short sleeved shirt. So I have to carry around a jacket anyways even if its 80+ outside.
Anyhoo, saw TMNT with the usual suspects. It wasn't half bad. Visually, it looked great. The plot left a lot to be desired, but what would you really expect from this kinda movie? I actually didn't know anything about the movie beforehand. Some famous people doing the voice-acting, April O'Neil was voiced by SMG. Once I heard her for the first time on-screen I was thinking, "Who's going to be Casey Jones, Freddie Prinze Jr?" But it wasn't, Casey was voiced by Johnny Storm from the Fantastic 4 movie. Though that's pretty much same difference. Zhang Ziyi voiced the Foot ninja chick, and Splinter was voiced by Mako, who I thought was dead. Been reading a manga seriesturdburgler lent me, Peach Girl. Its pretty good for that kinda of series. One thing I find compelling is its handling of the main love triangle. Usually in books and tv shows and movies, even though its a triangle, there's usually one pairing that's the "preferrable" one. I.e., one pairing the audience thinks should be the one that lasts, and the story usually involves this pair trying to work out with one of the pair still involved with someone else out of loyalty, or because they're safe, or out of fear of change or whatever. Sometimes its not so one-sided, but even then one pairing definitely feels stronger than the other.
In Peach Girl though, I'd say the main character, Momo, her choices, Toji, and Kiley, are about dead even. They're both pretty good guys who've made mistakes but are extremely loyal and care deeply for her. Both "deserve" her, and she wouldn't be "wrong" choosing one or the other. So, it'll definitely be interesting to see how it turns out and who she'll choose in the end.
