geebs On Heroes, Claire's life sure turned sucky quickly. I mean, she finds out weeks ago that her dad works for an evil conspiracy who's been erasing the memories of her family and friends and tried to erase hers, her adoptive mom's brain has broken from all the mindwipes, her birth mom is actually a self serving, manipulative bitch (although I don't think Claire's aware of this yet) and her birth dad just wants to give her money to go away.
In Nathan's defense, I think had he actually had a chance to meet Claire, it woulda chipped away at that icy heart of his and it may have taken a little hemming and hawing, but I think he woulda eventually been there for her. But between his mom (and when did she all of a sudden turn into a cold, rich bitch who's all about appearances?) being all just give them money and keep them quiet to avoid a damaging scandal and Meredith convincing him that he is that kinda guy and she's happy to take the money, he didn't have a chance. But that was deliciously evil of her, particularly when she was all, "He's willing to give us 50k, and you can have half" What a bitch!
Its very confusing though, when she initially talked to Nate, it seemed like she actually wasn't trying to shake him down for money, that he just mis-interpreted her words, but once he brought up the idea of money, the money grubbing side of her took over and was all, "Sure, I'll take some money!"
Speaking of money grubbers, looks like Matt's going down a slippery slope. It seems like he's sick and tired of hearing people thinking he's an idiot loser, so he took the diamonds from the guy he failed to protect from Jessica and kept them for himself. Speaking of which, all of a sudden, Jessica's Linderman's attack dog. Its a little confusing who actually got her out of prison. So evil lawyer guy took the money and kept it for himself, but also negotiated Niki's release on Linderman's behalf, not knowing Linderman was going to use her to kill him? And her next target is Nate? I wonder how that fight will go? As I suspected Matt and Jessica's fight was pretty one-sided. Heh, in fact, his telepathy actually screwed him over, as he thought Niki and Jessica were two separate peeps and Jessica used that to trick him and almost throw him out a window to his death.
Meanwhile, Sylar kills some dude who can melt things and steals his power, and then fools Mohinder into thinking he's him, and is going to tag along as Mohinder informs more powered people, presumably so he can kill them and steal their powers afterwards.
On the Hiro/Ando front, a manipulative bitch gives them a sob story and tricks them into stealing something from someone on the Nevada gaming commission. Ando goes off with her, while Hiro's left taking the fall. He really needs his powers back, as he goes down like a little bitch pretty easily without them.
Anyways, was talking over dinner about the show with the roomie. It seems like Peter can actually file away powers he's absorbed for later use. I wonder who's more powerful then, Peter or Sylar. They weren't clear if Peter could manifest multiple powers at the same time. And Sylar definitely has more control of his powers. However, it seems like he has to kill someone and look in their brains to get their power, whereas Peter just has to be in their presence once and can use them later. I wonder if that means he can manifest any of Sylar's powers? Hmm, maybe that's why he's suddenly on overload- he's gotten Nathan's, Claire's, Claude's and Isaac's power that he knows of. He should have Hiro's and Matt's. I'm curious if he ever got close enough to the Haitian when he was lurking around the station after the whole murder at the high school thing. (Was the static sound when he was overloading last week supposed to be indicative of that, or was that him manifesting Matt's mind reading?) But if he was in the presence of Sylar, that might be why he's on overload, because he would've gotten all the powers Sylar's stolen.
Actually, of the people we've seen, I guess the only powers so far he prolly hasn't absorbed would be Niki/Jessica's, DL's, Micah's, Eden's, Meredith's, and Ted's, as he was never in their presence? (And Hana, if you're counting peeps from the online novel, and when are we gonna see her? Soon, I guess, since she's hanging out with Ted and it sounded like they're going after HRG)
And what the frak, now its back to being relatively warm again! Crazy Georgia weather!
