That was certainly a strange ep of Galactica tonight. So, with tensions high in the fleet as of late, Admiral Adama organizing a "friendly" little boxing competition so people can vent their frustrations. All throughout, we get flashbacks to the time between the initial settlement of New Caprica and before the Cylons invaded. Some interesting things happen during that time. Back then, Admiral Adama was soft, and let a few key members of his crew leave the service to settle and have a new life. He regrets doing this, as he feels he broke up their family, and they got lazy, and that's why they weren't prepared when the cylons first came. They got lax and thought it was all over and they could just settle down and live out the rest of their lives.

Of course, he gives this speech after a particularly brutal match against Tyrol. The Admiral had the upper hand at first, flooring a surprised Tyrol. But Tyrol is a decent sized guy, and many years younger, so eventually, the Chief gets the upper hand and proceeds to kick the crap out of Adama so bad that the crowd stops getting into it and everyone's just Un!Comfortable! watching a guy beat up an old man. Tyrol finally lets up to let Adama give the aforementioned speech. This seems to placate the crew. But its not over yet, because Starbuck wants to challenge Apollo (yes, they have inter-gender matches. Heh, Kara totally kicked Hot Dog's ass!)

Anyways, we see Starbuck's been frakkin' Anders still, just for "fun" I guess. I think poor Anders has some hope that it could rekindle things between them. We find out from flashbacks that during some crazy party, Anders passes out drunk, and Dualla leaves early to pack to transfer from Galactica to Pegasus. So Starbuck and Apollo use this time to frak. (speaking of frakking, Rosalyn totally propositioned Adama, but he just wanted to cuddle!) Afterwards, Apollo thinks they should leave their respective SOs and declare their love for each other. Well, he already shouted it aloud out in the wilderness and makes Starbuck say it to, but he wants to make it official. Unfortunately, morning comes, Starbuck takes off and marries Anders (even though she previously told Lee the night before that she wasn't going to). Apollo is devastated, obviously. Anyways, their feelings they had deep inside come out during their fight, which is particularly nasty. And Starbuck's a cheat who kicks even though its supposed to be just a boxing match. But then, they like break down and start hugging each other. If you thought Tyrol kicking the crap out of Adama was awkward, this was downright cringe worthy. And I don't mean "Corny!" The guys who stayed to see an exciting match start to leave after seeing this embarrassing display. Anders is obviously pissed and Dualla is just crushed. It'll ben interesting to see what the after effects are of this next ep.

So, I tackled Kenshin's dream stage. It wasn't too bad, didn't die, and got his 4th weapon, Frozen Flame, to boot. So now everyone has gold "clear"s in the character select screen for story mode. And I guess Anegawa-Oda side really is a better place to get Master 3. I was hesitant initially, because i thought if you took on Nagamasa all those times, it would screw up your other missions. But that's totally not the case. As long as you leave the Azai camp alone, you can fight him to your heart's content practically. I mean, following my method I posted a while back for Anegawa, after taking the two guys in front of you where you start (unless you're ieyasu, honda or hanzo) and then taking the north eastern fort, you can basically attack him, go to kill a general or two until he comes back and then kill him again. Lather, rinse, repeat. If you finish off the Asakura camp though, Oichi will charge out, and you'll have to kill her, sending Nagamasa into "Ok, this is my final attack mode!" But several chances to get master 3 as opposed to the two in Hasedo, and it being an easier stage in general makes it a pretty good choice.

Yeah, I found this episode to be very ... slow or something. It wasn't engaging at all.
