Dec. 9th, 2004 07:48 amOkay, I'll start off with the really strange dreams I had last night. Alas, I don't recall the details, but it was wacky. It started off with me at some rehersal dinner or bachelor party or some sort of pre wedding event for some relative of mine, I'm guessing it had to be a bachelor party since there were strippers or hookers there or something. Anyways, I hit it off with one of them, and just when I'm about to take her to my room, my parents show up saying we have to get ready for the wedding. So I do, but not wanting to miss out on some tail, I take her to the reception and try to fool around like in a linen closet or something, but Richard and Emily Gilmore (who are apparently my grandparents in this dream) corner me for some lame wedding stuff, so I was foiled again. I think it went on like this for a while, people bothering me until I eventually changed dreams. This next one, I don't know if I was actually there, or just watching events unfold, but it starts off with me watching Shannon and Boone from Lost talking on the plane. Not the flight though, like a different plane, more cargo-ish. I don't know if they were flying off the island, or hanging out in the fuselage of a crashed plane, but Shannon puts on a veil and tells Boone he promised she'd marry her. There are other people around, but they can't hear their conversation, so Boone's all uncomfortable and tells her to quit it, because the people wouldn't understand their relationship, that's why they ran away. (For those non-Lost watchers, they're brother and sister) The conversation switches to another person, played by the guy who played Methos on Highlander. He's not playing Methos though. Apparently, the Lost survivors built a city on the island and they've been living there for years and built a society, and only recently discovered that the island halts the aging process. Or rather, no one ages past like 40 or 50. The Methos guy is like telling someone that he used to be a teacher in the town, but doesn't anymore because there are no children. Also, he hints at the island's strange powers by saying he's been teaching for 40 years and hasn't aged a day, and not one of his students he's taught decades ago has died of old age. Then the dream switches to Dawn of the Dead (the remake, not the original) Again, I think I'm only watching, because Ving Rhames, Sarah Polley, and that Kevin Spacey-ish guy that was kinda a love interest for Sarah Polley in that movie are running from the zombies and run into this public restroom, Ving and Sarah are in the middle of climbing out the window when Ethan from Lost appears and attacks the KS-ish guy (I think his name was Michael, so I'll switch to that) and infects him, then starts babbling and talk about his plans of world domination or something until Sarah sneaks up behind him and shoots his head off with a shotgun. The Michael guy know he's infected and tells them to leave before he changes. Only while their halfway out the window, he does change into a baddie, but he doesn't look like a zombie, and retains his intelligence and tries to trick them into coming back down, but it doesn't work. They run, and apparently I'm there with them now, and we pile into this Mini driven by a cute black chick, and we're driving all crazy and get to the highway and start thinking, this is stupid, because the highway would be stopped still because of all the zombie caused car wrecks or people who just died and their cars stopped. But it was moving, and there were lots of survivors trying to flee. I remember thinking that we have to get out of there quickly because the town was about to be nuked. But we stopped by the side of the road in front of a satellite dish and some antennas that were just hooked up there on the side of the highway, and I think I was supposed to do something with them. Perhaps fix it, but that's when I woke up.
Had dinner at Friday's, but alas not getting back in time to see Lost on the HD receiver.
clevemire also came over to watch HD Lost. But, no fret, just watched the stuff on the PVR until we caught up to the live feed and switched to that. Seriously, the diff between HD and normal TV is incredible! HD is just so clear. Anyways, here's the Lost talk:
What the, they're back to a Jack ep?! Show some other people! Like that Hurley guy, he's so mysterious! I think he really could pay Walt the 20k he supposedly owes him. And he's "sort of a warrior" back in the world? And what's with them pointing out how lucky Walt is? Especially at playing the backgammon, which I think Locke was saying before was a metaphor for the battle between good and evil? I bet, the weird islanders are going to corrupt Claire's child who obviously is powerful if some psychic tries to kill it off because of what he see's about it. So he prolly tries to take over the island, which is a metaphor for taking over the world, and the only one who can stop him is another child of great power, Walt! Okay, that's out there. But we did find out a lot more about other peeps. Walt's other dad, what exactly Locke did at that company, Boone's apparently head of some part of his mom's corporation. I think that dream I had was influenced by my suspicion that he and his sister have a special relationship, even though they argue all the time.
The scene with Charlie hanging was shocking. I thought he really was gonna be dead, Abrams wouled have gotten lots of props I think if he did kill of Charlie, because it would be pretty ballsy to off one of your popular main characters. And I had heard that someone was going to die. And I guess he did. Only he came back to life afterwards. And we don't get to find out what's under the plate or box or whatever. It would be amusing if it had the carving of the Rambaldi eye on it!
South Park was okay, and Drawn Together again and several so-wrong things, but was pretty funny. And it made me get that damn Dirty Dancing song stuck in my head. And its hard to sing it out of me (though I could try, since that other guy who's supposed to be here called in sick so I'm out on the floor alone) because its a duet. That would've been a cool song for the duet portion of KR3. That, or "Endless Love", or Warren G's "Regulate". Alas, I missed out on my chance to do that years ago. Or rather the person who wanted to do it didn't hardly know me, so she was unwilling to take a chance on me (Abba! They shoulda had some of that on the KR games!) I think I could do the Nate Dogg part smoothly, I have it practically memorized. At least that's more actual singing. Warren G's part is straight rap, and I don't think I could ever rap in my life and not laugh at how ridiculous I would sound. But anyways, "Love Shack" is definitely a good choice for them to put in KR3. Though I just noticed that all their duet songs are old. The newest of the duet songs in the game is either "Under Pressure" or "Love Shack", and those are like more than a decade and a half old! Strange, considering the gsmes try to have a good mix of old and new, they could have put a few Linkin Park songs there for that part of the game.
