Dec. 2nd, 2004 08:45 amThe roomie cooked dinner and had the usual suspects over to watch some HD Smallville and then Lost. The food was pretty good.
Pretty cool ep. I had a feeling they were gonna eventually have it so one of the people there wasn't actually on the plane. I didn't trust that Ethan guy, but was thinking if he was gonna go nuts, its because everyone keeps calling him Lance! Ha! Though from the previews, he can't be normal if he's able to drag off Charlie and Claire all on his own. And speaking of, did psychic guy know the plane was gonna crash, and he saw a prophecy about her child being like the anti-christ or something equally bad if she didn't raise it? So, not trusting that she'd be able to raise it right, he just tried to kill her off? Also, that accent is so hot. Of course, I thought she was hot back on Roswell, even though she was sans accent. I like she has a bigger role here. She was totally underused in Roswell, and that whole crap where she was actually the villain who forced Alex to do the translation of the book and then later killed him was total BS. Her character was developing nicely and they did that total 180 with the story. Though it is excusable given everyone was a bunch of assholes to her the whole time. Of course she's gonna try and break Max and Liz up. She still has her memories of her previous life, and to her she and Max were married and still in love! Liz is the homewrecker, not her! But I digress. I really hope they don't kill her off or anything.
And Sayid is back, and I guess he would have told them about Delenn. So lots of interesting developments and things should be egg-citing for the next couple of eps. I wonder when we find out why Hurley is called Hurley as well. I like
clevemire's theory that that's the alias he uses when he secretly travels on Oceanic, the airline he owns! And he dresses like a shlub as a clever disguise and in his flashback he'll be this rich, bad-ass playboy. Ha!
That episode just seemed kinda off. Or that something was cut and missing, because when they resolved the whole thing at 845, I was thinking it was a dream sequence still. But it wasn't. Lex's testing of the cure on himself worked, and he saved the day. So the last ten minutes of the ep just seemed blah and boring. And what's with this, maybe "Lana will be the one you can tell"? Its not like he hasn't told anyone before. Pete, the Flash, that kid with the tumor who could read minds, his psycho ex-gf the teleporter, his dead ex-gf the werewolf. So I don't think it should be this big deal. I can see him being freaked about telling Lana because of the whole meteors crushing her parents thing, but there should be no reason he keeps lying to Lex or Chloe. They have proven time and time again that they are loyal friends. Well, Pete did bring up the burden of having to keep the secret last season, but in terms of being able to trust them, he should by now. He shouldn't be pissed about the prying they've both done, because he always acts suspicious and is one of the worst liars in the world, so its natural they'd be curious. And its not like he hasn't nosed around their business anyways. Though in the forums, I noticed people saying Chloe totally knows. I guess the stuff she says at the end indicates she's 95% sure he's something weird. If he doesn't eventually tell her, he really is an asshole. It would have been totally hysterical after Chloe gave him that speech about not being alone and that you should be able to tell your best friend anything he would be all, "You're right. I better go find Lana." Ha! But man, superman really is an asshole. And not just when he's drunk!
I've never really been a fan of Superman anyways, he's too white-knight, boy-scouty. Of course, so was the mountie dude on Due South, but I actually thought his character was cool. Prolly cause of those couple of eps where he re-hooks up with the Providence chick who's this thief. It was just cool to see him give up being a good guy for that short time (though you could tell he was struggling with it, and that scene where the old lady was "all some guy stole my purse" and he just walks away and is all "Sorry, I can't help you." was neat) to be with the love of his life. I guess it shows he can be flawed. Superman was too perfect. Though I guess Smallville shows how imperfect he really is. I guess it wouldn't be as annoying if he wasn't such a lousy good guy and bad guy. I mean, he's a judgemental, holier than thou, know-it-all prick when he's trying to be good. And he just sucks at being a sleazy, hedonistic bad boy. Which reminds me, when Isobel-Lana cuts his hair, he's apparently still a virgin?! So all the time in Metropolis as Kal, when he was robbing banks and throwing money around and picking up hot chicks in the clubs, he didn't once get any?! He sucks! If I were him, one of the first things I'd do is try to do the Chloe/Lana hookup. Then I'd totally team up with Lex. They would totally rule! With Clark's powers and Lex's money and cunning, they could easily grab the world by the throat and make it give them what they want. But he has to be a dumb hick farmboy two-faced ass.
South Park and Drawn Together were both hysterical. And full of things so so totally wrong. And holy shit, the shit just hit the fan here! WTF?! Time to sign off and deal with a huge pain in the ass. Damn power glitches.
