What in the world? A strange one of these.
I think I'll rant a little more on MGS3. Its definiely innovative. And the graphics are great, but its just too weird! I don't know what the trend is in these new games to incorporate eating and exercise. I'm here to play a game, not play like its real life! At least it makes sense in San Andreas, cause its practically a life sim. But MGS3 it doesn't really make sense. I mean, sure, if you're stuck out in the field behind enemy lines for several days with no supplies, hunting and foraging for food makes sense. But Major Tom even says it should only be a four hour mission (well, the first part of the game, anyways) What do you need to eat for? Can't Snake pack a damn powerbar or something?! Its not like he'll starve! All this hunting and trapping just adds an unneccesary and tedious element. I mean, I don't mind the field surgery stuff to heal instead of just casting a spell or quaffing some sort of potion or rations or something. That's pretty neat. And I don't even mind the hour long sniper boss fight. (literally!) At least you're accomplishing something there.
And what's with the dress up component in all these games now? I mean San Andreas, SSX you could buy different clothes, MGS3 you ave all these different camo outfits. Even games like Virtua Fighter, Tekken 5, and DOA: Ultimate, you can pick all sorts of outfits and accesorize. I guess people just really like customization.
