Have not had a chance to get a decent night's sleep all week. I've been wanting to hit Oxford and the mall, but after work I just feel like napping. Maybe its a good thing, because if I go to the mall, I'll buy new games. I already put $5 on Prince of Persia 2 since I had that much left over on store credit. Karaoke Revolution 3 is already out as is Metal Gear Solid 3, both of which I'm on the fence on. Sure KR3 has some new songs, but more than a few are duets, and it just doesn't seem like it'll be as fun without other people. And MGS3 looks impressive but its also a little intimidating. It seems all too fancy with the catching and eating and battlefield surgery in addition to the normal "tactical espionage action". PoP2 sounds like it'll be hard too. When did video games become hard or overwhelming to me? I'm not that old. Eh, its just as well I don't get a new game, as though the roomie has completed the main plot in San Andreas, he's on LOTR: The Third Age. Looks neat, even though, as the Penny Arcade guys say its the exact same system as FFX. Its uncanny. I wonder if Square leased them the system or something. It is fun to watch and find myself shouting "Nazgul!" every so often before a random encounter, though the roomie has yet to face those again. He is in Moria though, so I'm sure the Balrog will be a boss. But I'm glad the roomie is playing games again, I hate going to sleep in the quiet, so hearing him play downstairs is a comfort. Maybe its growing up in a crowded household in NYC, but I'm used to going to sleep with things still bustling around. I don't know how I'd ever handle the suburbs when I "grow up". I mean, the remoteness freaked me out whenever I'd stay over at [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out's house. And now that I think about it, the quietness used to get to me when I'd sleep over the weekends at [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 and [livejournal.com profile] 7500centfish's place when we were kids. Maybe that's why their house is always haunted in my dreams.

breaking the sound barrier isn't an easy thing to do, but its not impossible--i didn't know how i was going to handle it when the services of my beloved cyclone fan (still one of the best uses of $20 i've ever seen) were put to pasture shortly after we got married--thankfully georgian hills' paper-thin walls allowed us to hear the constant white noise of I-75 traffic (i think i'm the only person they've ever had in that complex that appreciated that) at night...it still wasn't easy but i got more acclimated--then we moved to where we are now & that's really quiet, but i don't even think about it anymore...still, it is pretty intimidating...although i guess i'm talking to the intimidator so maybe it won't threaten you as much...

Strange I don't like sleeping in the quiet either. I always need something droning in the background like the AC or a fan. But when we were younger I don't remember ever having noise or anything droning on in the house when we had to sleep.

Prince of persia... Isn't that game like old? *sigh* I miss the good ole days of games like Kings Quest and Laura Bow... I suck at running around and killing people. I need to find me a girly game.

It's not that quiet in the burbs... But then again I live next to a freaking highway. But I'm surprised I actually block it out most of the time. Anyway, I need to sleep with the TV on and a light in the hallway. I'm a wimp!

Its the new Prince of Persia game. Well, the sequel to the remake that came out last year. It looks all awesome graphically. I guess there was just the two Laura Bows, but how many KQs were there. I seem to remember y'all playing one where you switch between controlling the mother and daughter. Is that like directly after the one with the son travelling the different islands and the genie and stuff?

But when we were younger, I still lived there, so maybe since there was someone else sleeping in the room, it wasn't as quiet.

I keep forgetting you used the fan for the noise. It used to freak me out because you'd have that thing going on when its like freezing outside and I was all, how can you have a fan on in this weather? But I remember you and Krug would like keep CSN404 freaking freezing in the winters because y'all are freaks. So I initially thought you used it to cool down.

I saw a preview for the game. Another running around and killing things game. Boring... Well it is somewhat amusing to watch. But not my type of game.

I think there were 8 KQ games. The last being... Yup you guessed it. A running around and killing game. I don't even remember the storyline to that one, but I don't even think it was a member of the family. Maybe it was one of those things if you do what I say you can marry my daughter type game.

The one with the mother and daughter... I think that was 5. That was somewhat good. Kinda cartoony in the graphics. I think it was after the one with the genie and stuff.

My God this is long...
