So I was commenting to my little brother
sparkyboy how I would have liked to have done a musical in high school. Well, if I was any good. Though that's no excuse for any of you married folk not to have had me as wedding singer at your wedding receptions! I'd do it for free! Of course, I have no band, so you'd prolly have to hire one. It would totally rock! You people still single, think about it!
But I digress. I actually don't know if my school did a lot of musicals. I remember seeing Annie at school, but only because the girl playing Annie was in my peer group and our peer group leader said we'd get extra credit if we went and saw it. But I don't recall any other shows they did. Of course, back in high school, I was either in the computer lab, or the library, or checking myself out in the bathroom mirror, or "off in my own world" as my junior year English teacher said, or apparently off seducing girls for points in a competition with my friends, as LC thought (which is by far the weirdest, most outlandish thing anyone has ever though about me in my life), so I must've missed the posters. I think something rocking like Grease or JC Superstar would've been cool to do. Of course, just thinking about doing Summer Nights on stage has me laughing to myself.
Alas, HS didn't suck, but it could have been way better if I was more outgoing. I can't believe I missed my 10 year reunion. Its like, thanks for the letter telling me about it beforehand! And who has a reunion in January? Though I wonder if I really would've flown back up to NYC for that. It would've been interesting to see what's been happening, but not $400 interesting.
