geebsSaw Sky Captain yesterday. I thought it was pretty cool. I think you either like the style or you don't (I was okay with it) but the story and the characters were neat. I thought Gwyneth and Giovanni Ribisi did a good job of playing the archetypes they portrayed. And it had its funny moments.
Went to Oxford this morning, finally picked up the new VtR book, as well as Youngblood: Genesis and the last 4 ishes of Astonishing X-men, I heared good things about it. And its done by Joss Whedon of Buffy fame. Things sure have changed since I last read it. Magneto and Prof X retired and helping to rebuild Genosha? Jean Grey dead? And White Queen and Juggernaut are X-men now?! And not only that, Ms. Frost and Cykes are an item now?! Crazy! Speaking of, hit the gamestop afterwards and pre-bought X-men Legends with the credit I had from having to return Time Crisis 3. It comes out tomorrow, but I have to go to get my car evaluated by the other guy's claim agent after work tomorrow, so I'll prolly pick it up Thursday. Or maybe Wendesday night, if I have time. Alas, I got that and the latest ish of EGM, which would left me with $3.22 of credit left, which was causing havoc with their system. So I gave them two bucks and had them put me down for the minimum $5 to pre-order Prince of Persia 2, which comes out November 17. Hopefully I'll remember I have it.
Picked up a samich at Publix for lunch and watched the first disk of Kino's Journey. Pretty cool. I mean, not a lot of action or scantily clad hot chyx, but the stories are all really interesting. Right now, just watching the demo disc of the new EGM. Gran Turismo 4 and DOA ultimate look incredible. And hey, its the return of goo-covered naked Kasumi in the trailer! Star Wars Battlefront looks interesting. Its like a cross between one of those war FPS/3PS like Medal of Honor and Dynasty Warriors. I think its a neat concept for a game. Speaking of Star Wars, the trilogy comes out today. I wonder if the roomie is getting it.
Oh, and its new TV week on the WB! Season premiere of Gilmore Girls tonight, and Smallville tomorrow. Should be good! I got those set up to be PVRed, of course. And as I was in Linens n things getting new sheets, they were playing Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved". I remember one show was using that in the commercials for their new season but I can't remember. Was it Everwood?! Or maybe it was Gilmore Girls. But the only trailer I remember has some other song. Are there two commercials out then? Because I can see that song making sense, and in my mind I can see it. This is gonna bug me.
