Wow, the Smallville and Angel finales were insane. But with those two done with, I guess all I have left to watch is Alias and 24 next week and then the TV season is over! What ever will I do?

Pete off in Witchita, Lana in Paris, Clark who knows where, Jonathan and Lex dying, and Chloe all blowed up? Who's left? Mama Kent? Maybe they'll turn it into a show about a city gal named Martha going to live the farm life but then is forced to do it on her own after the untimely death of her hubbie and the disappearance of her son. Then she can adopt some precocious ne'er do well to help her out and it'll be all about the hilarity that ensues trying to make you way in some podunk Kansas town. Okay, not really. Of course all those people are coming back! Well, maybe not Pete, I heared he's not signed on for next year, but obviously they can't get rid of Lex, Clark, and Lana. Jonathan can't die yet, and unlike Pete, Chloe was actually a useful secondary character. Besides, if she died, then Clark would never be able to get the Lana/Chloe threesome. In any case, it was a surprising last five minutes.

I thought the Angel finale was pretty neat, but from what I hear, you either love it or hate it. It does leave things open. Or you can just assume they died, fighting the good fight against overwhelming odds. Although Illyria took out more than half the Black Thorn without breaking a sweat. Too bad she lost her dimension-shifting and time-altering powers, she coulda easily taken them all out herself. And while I was one of the few who thought "The Girl in Question" a few weeks ago was funny, they coulda spent more eps on the set-up and execution to this finale. This ep shoulda been two hours. Give more time for the peeps to do their last day living, and still have time for some more action.

Wes is a stronger man than I, I woulda taken Illyria up on her offer. And how did Harmony know their plans, she wasn't there. Though I guess Angel expected her to betray him. Maybe he mentioned just the Sebassis part to her and that's why Hamilton was waiting to take out Angel, not knowing he already killed the arch-duke. And his way of killing the arch duke, how very Dune of him. After all, the other members weren't prepared either.

Though the MoG weren't exactly prepared either. I mean, for Gunn, Spike, Lindsey and Lorne, and Illyria, it was all sledgehammering the opposition, though Spike had the added advantage that the Fell brethern were prolly holding their punches so as not to accidentally kill the kid he was holding. I'm surprised Gunn was able to take out his. I guess the senator lady was just a demon in a human shell, possessing none of its demon-like abilities. Otherwise he shouldn't have been able to kill her so easily. Though if she was that fragile, that was quite foolish of her to stay exposed and think her cadre of vampires would be enough to protect her. But Wes was woefully underprepared. And what's with him trading the guns for fireballs? The poor bastard, and I guess the whole Fred being all, "You'll be with me soon" was one of the lies, given she's not waiting for him, her soul was obliterated by Illyria. and he didn't even really put a dent in the guy. I mean, the point blank fireball prolly fazed the guy, but it looks like the guy was practically fine against Illyria. Though I guess either he didn't recognize her looking like Fred or was unfamiliar with her altogether, because he prolly coulda stood a chance if he didn't foolishly act all cocky and give her the first shot.

Wow, I was surprised by the Lorne killing Lindsey thing. No wonder he was such a sour puss about the whole sitch. Actually I kinda feel sorry for Lindsey, he thought he was part of the team, had his plans, though he prolly was gonna betray them eventually. And Eve gave up her immortality for him and now he's gone. So did she stay in the building? It was fun to see Connor fight along side his pops again. And I'm surprised Harmony survived. And with a glowing recommendation letter from Angel, even though she betrayed him. Or mebbe its a lousy recommendation letter, and that's his last laugh on her.

But hordes of demons, a dragon, that would've been a glorious thing to see them fight. Of course, they prolly didn't have anything left in the special FX budget.
