May. 6th, 2004 09:08 amOwel, after work yesterday, went to Oxford, picked up some comics, and pussied out, yet again.
Wednesday night telly:
Hey Lana, you know, maybe Chloe and her dad wanted to buy the Talon for reasons other than preserving it just the way you like it. You know, maybe because Chloe's dad is jobless and has no other way of getting a job since Papa Luthor is blacklisting him everywhere! Talk about self involved. And does Lex really not want her to go because he likes spending time with her because she's so sweet and innocent, or because he wants to tag it! Who would blame him, she's totally hott!
Once they mentioned the star knife would crumble in the wrong person's hands, you knew Lex was gonna touch it. The roomie correctly guessed though that Lex and Lionel would touch it at the same time so you still wouldn't know who "the enemy" was. Well, so Clark wouldn't know, because we all know Lex is the enemy.
Hey, I know some people didn't like that the third to last ep before the series ends for good was a light hearted comedy ep, but I enjoyed it. It had lots of funny parts. Especially Spike's "son of a bitch!" upon hearing Drusilla banged that immortal. He said that perfectly. And a "ha!" to Angel's "You never let us do that!" when Darla revealed it was a threesome. It was a strange guest appearance. I mean, they advertised the return of Darla and Dru, and it was all for this? Well, Dru did get that funny black and white hipster "Ciao!" scene in 50s Italy with Spike. Other funny parts, Angel trying to take credit for slaying Acathla - "I signalled her with my eyes!", the Italian W&H just being the LA W&H set with bad Italian stereotypes hanging around, and just the whole Angel/Spike interaction. I'm always amused by their banter. Though it does make them look like a couple of fops. I mean, showing them back in 1894 Italy, you gotta think, these clowns were able to have a reign of terror?
And how f'ed up was it for Illyria to pretend to be Fred for her parents? I mean, its a nice thing to do I guess. And man, screwing with Wes' head like that, even offering to roleplay Fred for him. He's a stronger man than I am. Of course, if he did, he'd prolly descend deeper into insanity and start thinking she really is Fred.
Come on, like that's a real cliffhanger. Obviously Ryan will be back next season! But that's real smart of Seth, "Why don't I compound my already distraught mother sadness at the loss of her new adopted son by sailing off to Tahiti?" I know Newport was a living hell for him before Ryan came, but I see no reason for him to run away, even if its just for the summer. Speaking of which, great way to treat your girlfriend! First, Summer wanted to help him get through this, what, she didn't help make Newport no longer a hell for him? And what happened to sailing to Tahiti with her? Why does he have to do it alone? And great, leave her with Marissa, because everyone knows what a great best friend she is.
And what's with these teenagers taking these long unsupervised trips? Like that would ever happen! And he's gonna sail on that little thing? That's not a boat, its a glorified raft! At least Pacey and Joey had a roof! And I don't even see the appeal of taking a month long sailing journey by oneself, At least Pacey also had a hottie with him. Ida know, I guess I'm not very adventurous.
Oh, and I don't think Kiki talked Theresa out of the abortion. It think she really didn't want it, just was trying to do what made the most sense for herself and Ryan. Kirsten just finally gave her an excuse. Though this baby that Kirsten aborted, could it be Jimmy's?!
Hmm, the Friends finale is tonigt, got to remember to PVR that. I wonder if Ross is gonna ask Rachel to stay, or is he gonna fly off to Paris with her? But he's tenured! And Ben's in NY. At least that's the excuse he gave Emily all those yearsa ago. Of course, when's the last time we saw him? But Rachel's job is in Paris. She can't be a housewife, because that's the whole reason she didn't marry Barry way back in the first ep! Perhaps "Ron" (or whatever wrong name Rachel's boss gave him) will give Rachel's boss at Ralph Lauren another dinosaur egg.
