Dec. 4th, 2003 01:19 amActually played some Texas Hold 'Em (the only poker game I will play) with the guys before going to the movies. Got some good tips from them. I think I'm getting a little better at reading what could possibly be out there and making reasonable estimates of what my chances are. Anyways, saw Bad Santa at the theaters. Its actually pretty funny. And while the humor can get pretty crude, it was also quite endearing. Especially towards the end, the interaction between Billy Bob Thorton and the kid really tugs at your heartstrings. There was this one scene where you could tell the entire audience felt so bad for the kid (if you see it, you'll know exactly what scene I'm talking about.) But you know me, I do like the romance, but that familial stuff is what really gets me.
Pretty good ep, but still a dissatisfying temporary solution to the Seth/Summer/Anna triangle. Of course, I already heard he was gonna choose to remain friends with both because he doesn't want to hurt the feelings of either girl, but I'm sure lots of the regular viewers had a heart attack when they saw him telling summer that he just wanted to be friends and thought he was gonna choose anna. (Obviously, I have my preference on which one he should choose) But the best scene in the whole ep was when Anna walks in on Seth with Summer in the Wonder Woman costume. And not just because Rachel Bilson looked really hot in the Wonder Woman costume (a feat I don't think the original Wonder Woman was able to accomplish, the costume never looked all that sexy to me) It was just well played and a little sad, the insecurities the two girls have coming to light as they chastized themselves. Anna makes him the very thoughtful handmade gift and sees Summer dressed all sexy and thinks she can't compete with Summer's looks. Summer, on the other hand, thought Anna's little handmade comic book was so sweet and perfect and felt like a total idiot (and slut) because she doesn't think she can show Seth how much she likes him other than in a physical way. Each girl thought the other's gift was better even though Seth tried to reassure them that he thought they were both great. Of course, he still needs to make a decision and not be wishy-washy because he doesn't want to hurt one or the other. He's hurting them more by not choosing. This whole let's all be friends thing is what's easiest for him not what's right. No one in that triangle wants to just be friends, its just delaying things. Of course, I've never really been one for ignoring feelings (well, if they're mutual) so as to not rock the boat. I don't think you can turn your feelings "off". Either someone ends up issuing an ultimatum or two of the people involved in the triangle succumb to their feelings and go around behind the other person's back. Any way you look at it, in the end someone is gonna be hurt. I've never been in a triangle in myself, but I've been on the sidelines for several of them. Things always come to a head within a couple of months. I mean, really, how long do you think you can deny yourself before things start spilling out and causing really akward sitches?
I think the way they've been playing it, Seth obviously prefers Summer, but is giving Anna a chance because she seems like "the right" choice because they have so much in common. After all, Anna always has to initiate things, while Seth is always as giddy as a school boy with Summer. I will be very disappointed if they don't do the Seth/Summer thing. That would be like Felicity not choosing Ben, or Joey not choosing Pacey. I mean, its just obvious. On Alias, I don't see it mattering either way if Vaughn picked Syd or Lauren, or before that Syd choosing between Will and Vaughn. Or on Smallville, it doesn't really make a diff if Clark chooses Lana or Chloe, and in actuality he seems more suited with Lex. Even on Gilmore Girls, I couldn't be swung one way or the other on the Jess vs Dean issue. Some shows, the proper solution to these triangles is obvious!
And yeah, I realize I'm such a fag. Actually, I'm a 12 year old girl.
