Nov. 17th, 2019 01:01 amSaw Charlie's Angels today. It was pretty enjoyable. Which disappoints me that its not going to do well in the box office, because that will feed all the misogynistic assholes out there who hate anything with a diverse cast who are all, "why we gotta be catering to these SJWs?!"

clevemire was turned off because of a dancing scene in the trailer that made him think they were gonna have some silly dance number like the first movie, but his fears were unfounded. Like there's a party, and there's like less than 15 seconds of them dancing as they make their way through the dance floor.
But yeah that's not what they were going for, it was just a solid action comedy with some kick ass characters. Although maybe its a little more violent than the previous movies. Like amusingly enough, it wasn't until years later that it clicked to me that the Angels in the 2000s movies never used guns and just their fists. This time around though, while they do have non lethal ways of taking out opponents, they don't shy away from killing when the shit hits the fan.
And I guess they're a little blase about that, which might turn off some people. Like the newbie was feeling guilty about some accidental collateral death, and Elizabeth Banks and the other girls are maybe a little too light about it all, "oh, well, that happens, you can't let it get to you."
In any case, I liked where they went with the organization. ( spoiler cut )
