I beat the SF V general story the other day, but its not 100%, because I ended up skipping the last two M Bison fights because they were effin BS. Its crazy, because they're a huge ramp up in difficulty from the rest of the story fights. I had flashbacks to SFII on the SNES, trying to beat the game with all the characters to see every ending and cursing up a storm at Bison's cheap ass crap!

I've definitely been enjoying MK X more. (Still annoyed Tekken 7 isn't out yet) I mean, while MK's kombat system has definitely improved over the years, SF is still the superior fighting engine for serious players. I'm just not that good at it. Like, I do okay, but seeing video online, I pale in comparison to what people out there are capable of.

That being said, MK X has come a long way over the course of the franchise. I mean, when it first started, the only thing it really had going for it was the finishing moves, and I guess the digitized graphics were fancy for the time. The fighting system improved in MK2, hit a peak in MK3, but then in my opinion the series went to crap, until MK9 revitalized it.

MKX took everything great about MK9 and improved it all around. Better design and animations, some of the faces are a little weird, but definitely superior in every way. Like the multiple variations, they manage to basically triple the amount of characters by tweaking the character mechanics so they feel like a whole other character. Well, some are basically the same characters with different extra tricks, but others do play radically different between variations.

I also like how the palette swap ninjas have gotten more distinct. I mean, Kitana and Mileena still share the same body type (which makes sense given the latter is a klone of the former), but they do get their own distinct styles of dress beyond one's blue and the other's purple. Same with Subzero and Scorpion. Their costumes are more distinct.

But the rest of their palette swaps are totally different now. Rain's body type still resembles Scorpion/Subzero, but his outfit is a radical departure, more Arabian or mage looking than ninja. Ermac, however, is skinnier and again wears something that's a far cry from the red ninja outfit he used to. Reptile started getting more overtly reptilian as the series went on, but here he's smaller and nimbler looking which is apt. On the other hand, Tremor is bigger and bulkier, befitting his earth elemental powers.
